MADDOG, are you treating Lyme continuously, or only when you have a diverticulitis flare?
Your reaction to Flagyl does sound like a herxheimer reaction. Flagyl breaks up the biofilms which can cause major dieoff.

last time I took flagyl my eyes turned dark red and itched until I almost cried. and my face turned numb especially my lips. my chest hurt and I had trouble breathing. I'll never take it again.
doc now says I have exhausted all divert meds and he doesn't know what else to give me if I have a flare. end up in er I guess.
so be sure it herx and not allergic reaction. I'd taken it for years but no more.

Thanks everyone!!
I stoped the flagyl still had terrible chest pain.
I stoped the levofloxacin the chest pain went away.
I was in so much chest pain it was causing me panic attacks.I felt I was drouning.
I had went back to the hospital sat night. The doc there wanted me to take prednisone and buy an expensive inhaler.
No prednisone for lyme people is what i belive,i did not tell him that, just left with the prescriptions.
He did a chest x-ray no Pnumonia. But it is being read by experts today as I worked in asbestos.
Found out today online that amoxicillin is good for diverticulitis,I got a ton of it and went on it now.
The diverticulitis has got a lot better, hopefully the amox. will finish it off.
I was herxing terribly also.
