I am finally walking again. it's nice weather. I can walk the lake in about 30-40 minutes. it's a little over a mile.

I've read to exercise five days and rest. my husband says since I'm so out of shape and it's only half an hour I should be doing it every day.

psychologically I'd like to take saturday off cause that's when I domost of my errands. he's gone and I enjoy my quiet time running around.

do we have to exerercise every day? my doc said do what feels good but don't stress muscles or your mind.

how often should people with lyme exercise?

I am beginning to exercise 10 minutes every other day. I use a Pilates DVD that has 10 minute routines and longer ones.

I would be extremely exhausted if I attempted to exercise everyday.

Listen to your body, you may feel that you need a day or two recover.

Every other day is fine .. That's what I do. But I try to go somewhere each day even if it's only out to the grocery store.

If you're lifting weights, then it's really best to rest a day in between.

Randibear,

Do you still have a lot of Lyme symptoms?
I'm guessing it all comes down to where you are in recovery.

Dr. B does say specifically *no* aerobics and only exercise every other day. I believe walking for 30-40 minutes would be considered aerobic.

That said, I'm weight lifting now and I've been able to do up to 5 days a week with isolation training (as opposed to full-body). I couldn't do much at first (only once or twice a week), but now after a few months I have a faster recovery time with less post-exertional malaise.
