Hi, could anyone give advice for when is an optimal time to take chlorella tablets? My doctor said that I could take up to 5 pills twice a day for a total of 10 per day. The bottle directions state that they should be taken with food, but I've read elsewhere that they work better when they're taken away from food (for some reason, can't remember why). And are they less effective when anything with Vitamin C is ingested at the same time, such as citrus, etc.? Thanks!

I was always told to take them on an empty stomach. I would think that Vit C could clear it out.

If you want to use chlorella as a binder, it is best to take it 1/2 hour before meals. Also, you should not take Vit. C near it.

I always take mine on an empty stomach. When I'm taking artemisinin or parasite meds I'll sometimes take it 30-60 minutes before dosing when it seems like I'm getting a lot of metals with die off. It prevents/gets rid of the metallic taste in my mouth and I feel better overall.

Taken 30 minutes before meals is good too. I will also take it at night right before bed, Binders work well over night, perhaps due to the decreased motility of digestion.

I read that Vitamin C is a strong enough antioxidant that it can break the bonds between the chlorella and any metals it has picked up. Not sure about other antioxidants, but I would take them away from chlorella just to be sure.

Thanks for the replies about the chlorella. The doctor told me that my TGF Beta 1 is somewhat elevated and that the chlorella might be useful in absorbing toxins. I was also told that it can be taken with meals and other meds/supplements. So when I read that several people think it works better on an empty stomach, I'm a bit perplexed about what to do. I did take it 30 minutes before dinner this evening. Not sure what to expect, but I'm feeling a little weird (could be from some antimicrobial tinctures that I took as well).

You will feel weird after chlorella (like light head) or so.

I take chlorella any time of the day, but the best time to get its mopping effect is like said above, 1/2 hour before a meal.

I take it with full stomach, or empty stomach, before or after a killer, in the night, before bedtime, early in the morning, literally any time is good. I always take it with Omega 3. I find Omega 3 helps my nerves.....
