Started taking doxycycline four days ago.

Foggy, spacy, sleepy. Had an ocular migraine and a bad case of the shakes, including lhermittes sign that seems to be gone today. I straightened my legs up in the kitchen and my head went bobbing all over; then I tried to do it again and couldn't reproduce what happened.

I feel feverish but have no fever, double vision. No short term memory at all, forgetting things like the names of streets I should know.

So tired, I just want to go to bed and stay there.

Blood pressure is ok, appetite is ok, a little hypoglycemia.

Is this a normal reaction to doxy, or a herx?

It sounds like a herx and I had a similar reaction to doxy in the beginning when I was on it. My reaction was so bad that I had to take pain relievers. It felt like I was going crazy, too, with a strange feeling I'd never had before or since, hard to describe. That lasted for about all night, and most of the next day I tried to just sleep it off. I started to feel better with each consecutive day. It'll hopefully get better for you! Doxy was a great antibiotic for me in the beginning stages of Lyme disease.

It is classic to have your first herx on Day Four!

So yes, very likely. Be sure to do what you can to detox.

It's weird how this works. Even while I was feeling one thing get worse I could feel *something else* get better, like something I can't put my finger on.

I see why people stick with it.
