brand new here [Smile] got my basic lyme panel from igenex resuts today. It showed-
titer - equivocal
IGM - band 41 +
IGG - band 41 ind

dr says not likely I have Lyme. I've heard if you have one band. Been strggling with back pain for 8 years and now loads of neurological issues.
Does this look like lyme to you?

To me no not at this time. However your immune system may not be making antibodies to show up on the blood test.

Was this a Lyme disease western Blot? 41kda is flagella but can be associated with other bacteria.
You may have to be retested after a antibiotic challenge. did your doctor do a challenge before this test?

You might not test positive even though you might have Lyme. You can use the Search function at the top of the page to type in 27 reasons for not testing positive for Lyme, and then read the list that comes up. that's why Lyme doctors often treat clinically, based on history and symptoms.

I had just finished a 9 day course of Alina for SIBO when I had the blood draw for the WB. I also have chronic EBV. Could that be why 41 showed positive?

So, those are the only bands that show positive? All the others were negative?

If so, I'd say it's something else. SIBO might take more than 9 days to cure. You might have more work to do in the gut. Gut issues can cause symptoms including neurological. I'd look at what to do besides antibiotics to heal the gut.

EBV can cause symptoms as well.

I'd see a doctor about the back pain. At least to see what's wrong with it, even if you go natural for treatment, at least you'll know. I teach Pilates and I like it when someone can tell me what specifically is wrong with their back so I can help them strengthen the right thing, if that makes sense ...

all others were negative, just 41 on both the IGG and IGM.
yea, my doc said Cebv is the bane of our existance. my back is basically shot. two collapsed discs and 3 on their way to collapsing, if they haven't already. That was 5 years ago. Saw a top neuro who said he wouldn't touch it. I've learned to live with chronic pain, it's just the neurological stuff that is throwing me for a loop.
