I'm currently on a protocol for Babesia mainly after not having too much success with previous antibiotic trials:
Mepron + Zithromax + Bactrim DS
I'm also taking one of Buhner's tinctures that target Babs and Bart - CSA. Cryptolepis, Sida Acuta, & Alchornea. My doctor didn't recommend this, but I feel like it would help things(besides herxing more) so I started on it.
I'm herxing pretty hard so far it seems. From what I've read, this combination of medications would also target Lyme and Bart to a degree, which I think I have.
I haven't tested for co-infections yet, but I was negative through Igenex for Lyme, but had some positive bands. My main symptoms are intense anxiety, head pressure, headaches, sore muscles all over, blurry vision, heart palpitations occasionally, tingly and burning nerves, sweaty feet and hands, and some shortness of breath and air hunger occasionally.
With this regimen, would I be experiencing a constant herx reaction since it would essentially be killing all 3 infections(If I have all 3...)? The Mepron itself is pretty rough and brought out some new babs for me. Ideally I want to be aggressive in killing the infections so I can feel better ASAP without sacrificing my health further.
Is this a good combo? I know it will be rough as far as herxes go and I'm ramping up slow on the herbs, but my anxiety has been pretty bad. I'm just wondering how effective this combo is all around. I've been treating for 2 weeks now. In general, is it a good idea to target all 3 at the same time?
Also, anyone have any progress with those herbs recommened by Buhner? My doc recommends Artemisinin down the road, but I read that Buhner recommends Sida Acuta over that now.

You said.. "My doctor didn't recommend this, but I feel like it would help things(besides herxing more) so I started on it."
Sorry! Several comments just so I know you know...
It is not fair to your doctor to not tell him/her you are treating yourself and what you are doing. It can be dangerous.
There is no quick fix or hurry up when it comes to treating tick borne diseases. More is not better. It can be dangerous.
Herxing is not a measure of success, only an indication that you are more toxic than your body can handle.
Herxing can kill, which of course is dangerous.
My suggestion would be give your doctor a chance to do what you are paying them to do. If you feel you can't, at least inform the doc that you are also playing doctor too and what you are doing.

Hope you feel better soon!
I told him I would slowly ramp up on this herb. He wanted to start Artemisnin per Buhner, but Sida Acuta is now the recommended herb on his site since it's easier on the liver. Sorry, I didn't intend to alarm you.
I'm working really close with my doctor, but I find myself having to fill in some of the gaps from my own research and recommend some things myself to try, since he relies on my feedback. I don't have the funds to do extensive testing right now.
I know he knows way more than I do, but I'm just trying to push for the best treatment possible.

I have had terrible anxiety in the past and found that Cat's Claw cured me of it and I only took 3 per day. NOW Cat's Claw Extract 10.1, 1.5 Standardized Extract. Cat's Claw doesn't seem to treat the co-infections though.
