I wanted to know if anyone beat Babesia with herbal treatment? I am very sensitive to antibiotics, etc.

I have never tested positive for babesia but many of my LLMD's felt I had it. My current LLMD has had me on liposomal artemisinin for several months now (pulsed) that I get from a compounding pharmacy.
When I am taking it, I do notice that my tinnitus and buzzing/burning sensations worsen. But when I stop taking it, these symptoms seem to gradually improve.
I test positive for brucellosis and it may also help with this. Liposomal art also helps with viral infections and parasites. So perhaps this is why my LLMD thinks it is a good idea for me to continue with it.
It is pretty potent stuff. I had to start slowly. I would like to follow this thread to hear about others' treatment with herbs.

dbpel,
How do you pulse your arteminisin? Is it three to four days on, the rest off?

I take it for 5 days in a row (I do Monday thru Friday to make it easier to remember) with 2 days off (Sat. and Sun.) for 3 weeks and then on the 4th week, I take the complete week off and start all over again after taking that time off.

According to Buhner artemisinin is only to be used for the short term. If you have used it for a month and are not better, you can consider it to be not useful for your infection.

I also took CSA for over 6 months. I forgot about that one. It's hard to know if it helped or not. Sometimes I wonder if it has been the brucellosis (I do test positive for this!) all along causing my symptoms.
That would explain why these herbs have helped in a small way, but have not gotten rid of my most annoying symptoms.
I am taking A BIO now for the brucellosis. Only up to 6 drops and increasing ever so slowly.

Good success on Zhang's protocol. However if I forget to order them and don't take them for a few days the night sweats return.

I tried the herbal route for 8 months and unfortunately, it didn't work for me.
I actually felt fantastic when I took malarone for the first time. I had so much energy, I could do jumping jacks at midnight if I wanted to. No herx. The energy tapered off a bit, but it was my turning point.

Judie, did malarone cure your Babesia as far as no more symptoms?

I got rid of babesiosis (microti) by taking Bactrim DS and pulsing artemesinin (3 days in a row each week) to coincide with my babs flares.
I have been lyme-free and babesiosis-free for 10 years now. I also had bartonella and got rid of that at the same time.

I got rid of two babesial infections in the past with herbs and alternative treatments only. The thread is above.
It's a pretty tricky infection. At that time, I didn't know about cryptolepsis (Buhner didn't know about it either).

The symptoms went away with malarone and then we added mepron for a couple months.
No flairs since then, but I'm dealing with a hornets nest from levaquin now. That's the drug that screwed me up.

I just went on dandelionbotanical.com and found that they have the Buhner herbs of sida acuta, alchornea, and cryptolepis, but they don't have bidens pilosa. They have red sage as well but it is not listed yet. I just bought sida, crypto, and bidens from Woodland Essence and they are not cheap. Now I can make my own for a fraction of the price.
Although the listing says commercially grown, the woman I talked to said that they know someone in Ghana and that it is wildcrafted as the weed it is considered to be.
I'm on my first day of the Buhner protocol for babs. To be continued...
