The next time I see my doctor, I want him to test me for co-infections. What lab do you recommend?
Had the lyme test through Igenex.

And would you be tested for protozoas?

Thanks for you help

Babesia is caused by protozoas. Igenex should be able to find most coinfections. However, your LLMD should treat for each of them if you are exhibiting symptoms of them.

A trial run of meds for each will usually be a big clue.

The reason i mentioned Galaxy diagnostics is because they can do a genus level PCR analysis for bartonella. So they dont just test for one or two variants (like most other labs do), but they test for the entire family of bartonella pathogens:

Bartonella is not just henselae or quintana. There are lots of other variants.

Igenex doesnt have these capabilities last time i checked, and they were not capable of detecting my bartonella species. For babesia and lyme i think Igenex is a good choice. For babesia they have a very good FISH test with high sensitivity.
