- Yes, indeed it sounds like it could be lyme (no "s") &/or other tick-borne infection.
I will limit my energy to just the hearing part.
The hearing symptoms, especially, it sounds like a sort of hyperacusis, very common with lyme. Also could be a brain nerve function relay with auditory parts of brain, neuron firing and ear connection.
The ears and the sensory functions of the brain can become jumbled in all kinds of ways with lyme as it can attack the cranial nerves VI & VII (and, well, anything else it wants to attack, too).
The neck pain is a classic lyme symptom and can also contribute to brain / sound sensory dysfunction.
the little "hammers" in the ears could be spasming from the "hit" of sound, too. Mine did. Very odd. Fortunately, I had a very interested ear researcher have machine that showed this.
MAGNESIUM might help if this is part of what is happening - as magnesium can help lessen spasms.
Most doctors have no clue about all this, though a good lyme literate doctor (LLMD) will.
So, she should be evaluated / assessed by a LLMD if at all possible.
Negative tests run by regular doctors are often not accurate. -

- "syncopal episodes"
oh, yes, many are no stranger to passing out. This can be for various reasons and is fairly common with lyme.
A Tilt Table Test might be good to help figure out if NMH is involved. If standing still is hard, that's clue. Neurally mediated hypotension - orthostatic hypotension is similar. Can be connected to the severe adrenal dysfunction that lyme can cause.
And, if the inner ear is affected as it seems, that can also trigger syncope - even just from sounds or the turning of head - or shift of eye focus.
I really have to stop now. Others will add to this. Good luck you both. -

The negative tests mean nothing
A lot sounds like lyme
One of best new books to help you sort it out is "why cant i get better"
Its written by one of top llmds lyme literate docs
You need To get patient to llmd and have igenex test done...even if neg ir gives good info to doc who understands lyme
Another exceklent resoyrce is ilads.org
There is a forum on here called seeking a doc
But best to talk with ppl who have experience with doc
Good luck. Sorry for typos. Im really tired
