Last week I started my meds for Lyme, Bart. Doxy, Rifampin, Cefuroxime
I have been having these daily lightheadedness episodes. Hard to describe. Almost like my vision goes tunnel very quickly and I get a feeling of light headed almost to feeling of passing out. They last 10 to 15 seconds and are periodic throughout the day. It seems to be strongest a couple hours after I have taken my meds. It seems to be getting better not as strong but still happens multiple times a day. This is the only symptoms I have been having. Is this a typical herx or is this a reaction to meds????

Hard to say for sure, best advice is to start 1 med at a time, wait a few days (or so) add another, repeat,
so you can maybe get a better handle. Only 1 med made me unbearably lightheaded, Minocycline. Continued entire month on it, so I got off it.
Are you detoxing, eating regularly, perhaps adding sea salt (not regular salt) in a little water every morning to drink can help.

Vision problems sound like a drug reaction to me.
I had all kinds of sensory problems on rifampin.
I'd talk to your doc about taking each antibiotic one at a time, then slowly add to see what's causing it.

I think I would call the Dr. LLMD about the vision tunneling.
When I replied earlier, I was focused on the dizzy part.
Hang in there--

Thanks for your replies again. This forum and you that respond are very helpful. This dizzy spell/passing out feeling has started to get a little better. I did start with one bX at a time last week but this didn't start until after I had them going for a day all together. I'm attributing this so far to my meds and not a herx. Since they are getting slightly better here I'm assuming that I'm adjusting to the meds slowly. I have been eating a little more while taking the meds as well, maybe that is helping. Again thanks for the help and concern!!

With doxy you MUST take it in the MIDDLE of a FULL meal or you will be sick! You could also damage the lining of your stomach if you do not take it with food.
Do not lie down for at least an hour after taking doxy.
