Hello!
I started malarone and art about one month ago. In the last few weeks I have started getting really terrible allergy like symptoms of runny nose, cough, headache, eye pain and throat congestion. I added ivermectin this past week every other night and the symptoms totally exploded.
Has anyone had anything similar happen? Could it be a herx/ drug reaction or is it actually just allergies emerging? I used to have them a long time ago but they kind of diminished among the myriad of other symptoms that Lyme and cos bring.
Any help is much appreciated as I am seeing the doctor tomorrow and would like to bring some ideas when I go!
Thanks [Smile]

Proguanil which is one of the two ingredients is blocking sulfat folate metabolism. This may worsen allergy syptoms. try methylfolate and methylcobalamin and see if it gets better. It may also be a reaction to the toxins from die off. in this case ad a teespoon of FRESH lemon juice to a bottle of water 2 times a day. helps to detox. take charcoal or cholestyramin as binders (empty stomach. if it is from die off detox will help, if not it will not help and it may probably from disrupted folate metabolism.
