You can do this through other sites already, but now LC is streamlining it........

Thinking it might be more of a privacy issue.

If you thought you had aids but didn't want that info in your medical file then you could test for it this way.......etc etc

Also if your Dr is a moron, which most are, and will not order the tests you want then you can just do it yourself.

I had an ENDO that was a ***** and refused to order the tests i wanted done, so i just did it myself online.

I have really good insurance. I recently asked a new doc for a himocysteine test. I had already had fiur in last 20 yrs. All covered

Doc ordered it but cant figure out correct code so insurance is refusing to pay. How would you figure out code?

I've been needing to look into this recently.

There are five states that prohibit direct access testing by patients and require a physician's order: New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Maryland, and Massachusetts. If you live in one of these states, you can still order labs and get them drawn in DC or another state.

Just saw this on FB and I'm wondering about cost (Silver has no insurance and VA wouldn't cover my tests) for specific testing.

Does this mean Labcorp will draw and you have it sent to the lab of your choice? And do you end up paying two fees, one to have it drawn (Labcorp) and one for the testing facility?

Inquiring minds need to know!
