I've checked the Med ?s pages for a thread on this "new" TBD (tick borne disease) & may have missed it, but just in case it *hasn't* been covered, a story came out almost a month ago about a virus- the Powossan virus- being found in CT ticks that is considered more serious than Lyme:
It's apparently rare now, but is potentially life-threatening as there is no known treatment or cure. And it can transfer within minutes of a bite from an infected tick, & cause symptoms similar to Lyme, but more severe. -M
