I posted a few days ago about my feet felt like they were are fire when I was taking a bath,,,,,even though the rest of my body was quite comfortable.
I didn't get any answers and I am now thinking it may be because I was linking it up to Bartonella symptom;
Now I can't even put them in luke warm water so I have to keep my feet up on the side of the tub, out of the water.
This morning I went to the mailbox wearing flip flops. 40 seconds to and from and by the time I got in the house my feet were on fire.
It was early in the day and the sun didn't bother any other part of my body.
Now I'm beginning to think its the Doxy-Sun thing and I guess Bart makes the feet so sensitive.
But I still don't understand why the feet are made so sensitive by Bartonella.
Anyone else on Doxy have this reaction to hot water?

You are experiencing the doxy burn on your feet. The feet don't have to look red.
It is a chemical burn.
That is why even luke warm water can set it off and even 40 seconds in the sun.
Now that you have it, it can last for a month or more. I had it and it was exactly as you say. I couldn't stand hot or cold water. And, I would get the burn when running out to the mailbox.
I couldn't even stand to sit under my skylight in my house. The sun would cause the burning on my hands.
Now that you know how sensitive you are to doxy, you need to be extremely careful or stop the doxy.
Even when driving, your hands or face can burn through the windshield. People wear light cotton gloves to prevent hand burn. And, you can wear a hat with a large brim to protect your face while driving.
Whatever parts of the body get doxy burned, those are the parts that will not tolerate any bit of sun or hot or cold water.
So sorry this happened to you. It can get extremely bad, including small blistering, so I suggest you ask your doctor for some other med. Let him know what is going on, and he will certainly agree.
I don't know why bart causes burning feet, but it does. This, however, it totally different.

I never heard this before that I remember being associated with tick disease, but I do have this problem.
are you talking about the soles of your feet or the entire foot?
I think it has lessoned since I had tx, but I have been foot sensitive as long as I can remember. I just thought feet were like that.

Yes. When I was on doxy, my hands got sun poisoning through the windshield of my car in March in Ohio. I had to wear gloves to drive. I didn't have trouble with my skin anywhere else.

I could switch to minocycline. I understand it does give some sun sensitivity but not as bad or as much as doxy…….anyone care to comment on whether this is true?
I asked my doc for it when she first suggested Doxy, but she said she has seen too many autoimmune problems caused by Minocycline.

I never had any sun problems when on doxy for months and months, but I do have raynouds and also was tx for many TBD.
sometimes just heat in a room brings this sx on for me in my hands. they feel like I wanna chop them off t orelieve the feeling, and it usually happens in a place I can't just exit easily or fast enough- like an apointment or etc.
a lot of it went away after all my tx but I still get is more in just hands now. I can't go bare footed any more ever- in winter or summer. it is just too painful

Everyone is different. My nephew could go surfing on doxy and no problem whatsoever.
Mino might be better for you, but it can give people vertigo/ear issues. Still might be worth trying. I couldn't handle mino so I wore cotton gloves, a hat and long sleeves. Sure it's a pain in the neck, but doxy works well.
TF is right, it takes about a month for it to pass.
