every day I scratch my head and get scabs off. it's not like blood but more like an itcy spot and when scratched i'll get a piece of skin like a sore.
I may have two or three areas. parasites or what?

Hey Randi. I get that but it's usually after I've itched my scalp due to itching because I need a good shampooing, or a nervous habit. Once I over scratch the area it can become moist, and scabs can form. Then it becomes a random scratch with scabs that come off, crust over again, etc. a good hair washing and no itching makes them go away. Not sure if this is you or not, but the outcome is the same.
Maybe someone else can she'd some light.

I have had that but only in two spots. After many years of complaining derm cut one off and it is gone. The other is just like you describe except only one spot. Has nothingbto do with hairwashing or not washing for me. I have a feeling it is from where i pulled off attached tick. I had the same thing on another part of my body but derm cut off and it didnt come back. They dont like to do it tho

I had something like that until I went gluten free. My head was always itchy and sometimes there would be something like skin peeling off, kind of half way between a scab and a sunburn.

This 100% describes me. The scabs on my scalp are almos like acne, but some are much more scabby. My LLMD said it's pretty common to see when you are treating for some of the parasites. Esp acne on the scalp.
Just my experience, though it's reassuring to know it's something others have noticed! I have not changed shampoos or hair products so I have no other explanation for my head bumps/acne

I had the same thing and do not know what caused it. It's been gone for awhile now. I did start ingesting coconut oil but that may well have not been the reason for the disappearance. Don't know. The oil has been good for the skin.
