i literally have a sudden urge to sleep...I can't even sit at the table and finish my meal. I don't have narcolepsy, this usually comes on with my flares which include headaches, chills alternating with sweats, more pain, and of course the drop-dead fatigue. My recent 4 mths of Babesia tx didn't really help this.

What on earth could be going on? Thank you!

This was my exact symptom when I had babesia flares.

At first, the flares included many more terrible symptoms, but eventually the flare boiled down to just the sudden, overwhelming urge to sleep.

So, I would say you are not done treating babs. Treat until you don't get this urge, not one little bit.

I literally had to park my car and take a nap one day. Then, I had my husband wake me up at the last possible moment and we went into the movie theatre where we wanted to watch a movie.

I got a 15 minute nap in the back seat, but it was enough.

Sometimes, when I feel suddenly much worse, I have come down with something new and it's not even directly Lyme-related... my immune system is so weak that I catch everything.

WPinVa, you really, really need to do the Burrascano weightlifting requirement (1 continuous hour, light weights, many repetitions every OTHER day) to boost your immune system.

If you do this, it will work like a miracle. I was catching everything about 5 years ago. Started back with the Burrascano weightlifting, and that was the end of getting sick!

I have written some recent posts about it. Check my recent posts for more info.

Thank you for your feedback. TF, makes sense bc my LLMD says he wants me to continue treating babs but the tx was overwhelming me and I am taking a short break.

WP, strange thing, I recently came down with a tight throat, chills, increased fatigue, thirst, hoarse voice, etc., and we are still trying to determine if it is one of these infections or something else like a virus.

It's so tough! Thank you both.

My lyme doc says that babs flares every 7 days and also every 14 days. First, I experienced flares every 7 days; eventually, they changed to every 14 days.

You will know when you have killed babs because you will not longer get these flares.

Mark them on the calendar and see if you notice a pattern. Mine were like clockwork every Friday evening at about 7 p.m. and lifted Sunday evening at 7 p.m.

Eventually, they became just an overwhelming need to nap on a Saturday afternoon. Then, after months, finally no need to nap anymore!!!

My lyme doc got rid of my horrendous flares by adding artemesinin to my meds. I had to take it to encompass the flares. So, I started taking it on Friday morning and finished taking it on Sunday evening.

As soon as I added the art, the flares went down to just 6 hours of feeling tired and needing to nap on a Saturday afternoon. It was truly like a miracle!

Burrascano says that art should be added to babs treatment in all cases. Read it in the Guidelines. So, if you haven't added it, when you start treating again, add it to encompass the flares.

You are not to take the art continuously. I got mine at The Vitamin Shoppe. I believe it was AllergyResearchGroup brand. Take on an empty stomach twice per day.

Hope this helps you kick babs.

Treating Babesia as well. Your symptoms are all very familiar to me.

When the overwhelming, brutal fatigue comes, I *have* to lie down this very second, not in 10 minutes or five ... but NOW. I can't finish a meal, a conversation or whatever I'm doing at this point. I have to drop EVERYTHING, wherever I am, whatever I'm doing, and lie down ...

Sometimes, it's a very scary feeling.

I appreciate all your replies. If it takes me a while to respond, it is either because I'm too sick or because I am unable to log in. From European servers, Lymenet is very frequently inaccessible for days at a time ...
