I have had symptoms for a year and a half now and don't recall a bite. I started having symptoms after a miscarriage and it took me 10 months to finally get a lyme diagnosis. I wanted for months for a doctor who came highly recommended and then he decided to cancel all new patient appointments-not sure if this was due to some health issues of his own, but i was gutted.
I heard of another doctor who has lyme and is treated by the doctor i was supposed to see. He isn't an LLMD but he is listed on ILADS as a doctor who has experience with lyme and he came highly recommended.
I went to visit him and he said he didn't think my lyme was that bad. He said he thought treatment may be a year or less. He didn't do a lot of the testing that the guru i was supposed to see does though. No heavy metals, hormones etc. I do have two copies of the MTHFR A1298C mutation so he prescribed me deplin.
I asked him about diet and he said he didn't think it was necessary and we would consider it later if my symptoms persisted. He thinks i have lyme and bartonella and just advised i take vitamin d and the MTHFR mutation deplin, no other vitamins etc were mentioned.
He has put me on Minocyline x2 daily 100mg He then wants me to add Clindamycin x2 daily 300mg Then Azithromycin x1 daily 500mg He also gave me fluconazole for yeast
First off, does anyone know if this is a pretty good protocol?
Would anyone else recommend vitamins etc too and diet?
I also constantly feel drugged or poisoned in my head. This has been my worst symptom that is constant and it never goes away. It makes me very miserable and extremely hard for me to function. I feel like i am becoming dumber almost. Not at all sharp, spell things wrong and never used to before. Use the wrong words for things when i mean something else, it is a very strange feeling.
I have wondered if this is down to the lyme and co-infections or something else lyme has caused and i get very frustrated not knowing what is causing it as it never seems to go away. Does anyone have this and know what it could be?
I drink lemon water daily and take epsom baths and they make no difference no matter what i do. I have considered going on cowden along with abx to see if some of the supplements for viruses, heavy metals etc might help me if i hit whatever is causing the issue, although i still don't know exactly.
I have also been feeling extremely nausea for about a week now and have never had this before as a symptom. I also feel extreme fatigue upon taking the deplin and mino this morning, wondering if anyone else has experience with these?
Sorry for the very long post but i am feeling helpless and desperate to try anything or have some advice to get rid of this spacey feeling, or at least try to lessen it. I also have horrible sensitivity to indoor lighting, it also seems to make my spacey feeling worse. My brain just feels absolutely toxic and certain foods make it even worse. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. I try so hard to stay positive, but when i can barely think and function mentally, it really gets me down.
I am 26 and graduated with a degree last year which was a struggle towards the end with my brain feeling this way. I am not currently working and not sure if i would even be able to. I live with my parents and just feel like this is no life. i want to help myself and feel like maybe there is a missing piece to the puzzle. All i know is i don't want to live my life like this forever.

Sounds to me like you still need to treat the Lyme, which causes all kinds of brain symptoms.
Re the nausea, have you been treating differently with anything recently?
Extreme fatigue could be a sign of a herx from treatment.
When I went on Armour thyroid, I no longer felt disassociated - I felt like I was present again. So that piece of the puzzle can be measured by a TSH and T3 test - if T3 is low, then we supplement. It brings back our metabolism.
I can stop all Lyme eye symptoms, including all sensitivity to lighting, by drinking mangosteen juice, an anti-inflammatory juice. I like the Mango-Xan version, as it's the most tart. You can find mangosteen juice in healthfood stores and online. We're all different in how we respond to remedies.
I am also clearly treating my brain with anti-inflammatories, all of them - we can get a brain measurement every time we test for the prolactin level, produced by the pituitary gland. It started out at 220, which means a tumor, but there wasn't any, and now the number has dropped to around 50, ie getting closer to normal
My anti-inflammatory treatments have been: 1) Mango-Xan juice, 1 oz/day 2) turmeric powder that I get in bulk from the health food store and put in 00 size capsules - take a couple a day 3) OPC grapeseed extract capsules 4) noni juice
I also take Host Defense capsules, which have 17 mushrooms in them for immune system strength.
And I do NOW liquid Vit D everyday.
I'm allergic to antibiotics, so I rely upon natural remedies.
Re Lyme diet, you could get The Lyme Diet Book and study it. Written by a LLND.
You're going to need to experiment with various treatments. All of us respond differently, so the trick is to find out what works for you. And any blood testing that can be done to show the doctor what you need to supplement.

. Did the nausea begin after you started the antibiotics?
Some people are not able to tolerate antibiotics because of nausea and diarrhea.

If I were you, I would try something like Dr. K's approach with kinesiology. He's ILADS also, but does not use ILADS protocols, mostly alternative ones.
When your symptoms are not too strong and you just need to clear last symptoms, trial and error may take your whole life.
Many people reach 70% with trial and error, but to reach 95-100% again, it is almost impossible, in my opinion, without energetic tests.
I was a non-believer, till I had no choice, as no one wanted to treat me here in Switzerland /Germany / Belgium. I mean, no common medical doctor. I went to dr. K's practioners (one medical dr., one naturopath) WITHOUT believing on energetic tests.
From the first month, I felt my light sensitivity, nausea, fatigue got much better. Their approach is more on balancing and cleaning the body, controlling diet for EACH patient (it varies from patient to patient), allergy free foods, treat your mouth (teeth, jaws), treat acupuncture points and meridians, etc.
As they test you, you get a total individual approach to the problem. I find that to reach more than 90%, that is practically the only way, unless you have decades to be trying and guessing.
A chronic health problem never comes alone. Diet, electromagnetic fields, toxins, bio toxins, organ malfunction, cell malfunction, low grade infections... How can a person find out which layers of problems one has?
energy testing is just one tool, a bit like a knife is a tool for cooking. A good knife alone will not make you a good cook. Same as energy testing: a good tester won't be necessarily a good practioner.
Dr. K developed a whole theory that uses energy testing, called ART, PK, MFT. I find it was very helpful to me, in many ways. I did a couple of courses myself too, when I felt a bit better.
Of course, that is just one approach.
Antibiotics alone will RARELY give you back your 100% health. They are not designed for that, I mean, to treat CHRONIC infections and diseases.
Trial and error can bring you a lot, when you have a very high sensibility to substances (food, remedies, what makes you feel good or bad). I was lucky to have that gut feeling that pointed me a lot of things, before I learned energy testing.
Energy testing is just so easy, in fact, but one needs to have an open 'regulation' for that. That is why I would suggest you an experienced practioner with ART.
Just my own thoughts.... I got well from a very bad lyme (or lymes, as I got bitten so many times), and so did my daughter.
ART helped us about the whole way, to tune Buhner herbs, homeopathy, acupuncture points, meridian, psycho issues, even antibiotics, when we needed them.
