1 - I was reading Rosner's section on detox and he says that when bile is actually removed from the body, the liver detox pathway will become clear and therefore the body will "pull additional toxins out of storage" and place them in the blood stream (page 149). Is it true that the body will actually move toxins from the brain on its own if / when the liver is cleared of toxins?

http://tinyurl.com/ppkcc4f

2 - I also read from Klinghartd that the toxins can go through 4 different pathways, one of which leads directly to the brain - if this is the case, then will increasing bile release have any effect on the brain pathway or probably not?

http://www.klinghardtacademy.com/images/stories/neurotoxin/NeurotoxinProtocol_Jan06.pdf

3 - What is the best method for removing bile? I've read about epson, and the Hulda Clark method... but will just taking cilantro work as well? Also, does Chlorella just bind toxins or does it move bile along as well? Also - is it possible to go through the cleanse every day if its tolerable?

4 - Can eliminating the bile remove toxins even if the toxins are unbound? Or, is taking cholestyramine a must for this to even work? Also - I read that cholestyramine does NOT enter the bloodstream... so how would this work to remove toxins if the toxins aren't going through the intestinal track route in the first place?

I can't get myself to do an enema.

I'm looking for the most powerful detox method. I've tried saunas, exercise, methyl B12, niacin, charcoal, chlorella, clay - and don't get any results.

Thanks,

The desire to achieve and feel better is well understood. But in this gung-ho world, aggressive methods can boomerang big time for our bodies.

Please, please, please do not seek out "the most powerful detox method" as that can be very assaultive to tender tissues, organs, systems.

The best or most effective method is not the "most powerful" -

- and doing a power style "cleanse every day" can damage tender tissue, too. Support is key. Yes, support every day but no pushing, boosting or harsh methods. The organs just don't work like a sink with a clog in it.

Give the organs what they need - all the time, but in the amount and scope designed for how organs work - so they can do their jobs but we cannot "flush" them like a toilet or wring them out as in the spin cycle of a washing machine.

While not about gallbladder, the same links here will also supply good information on gallbladder support if you go into the site and search. The detail here is first, though, as the liver and gallbladder do a dance, so to speak.

LIVER & KIDNEY SUPPORT & and several HERXHEIMER support links, too.

Q: 3 - What is the best method for removing bile?

We require bile. Not good to remove it. Not really possible with a working gallbladder, anyway. We do want to gently coax bile to "move" though. Maybe something got lost in translation.

When bile moves out, more is formed. This is a good thing.

Search "gallbladder" here and you will find some very nice explanations about how it works, what happens with it does not and what can be done to support it, with habits, diet and nutrients.

Be sure to avoid cold food and liquids.

Though not at all about lyme, this is one of the best reference resources on my bookshelf that has wonderful chapters, many graciously available through their website.

Hey thanks for the info!

Also - do you know of an alternative to epson salt? Does high dose vitamin C work as well? Last time I took that much magnesium I became very sleepy / depressed (but it wasn't a herx). Thanks,

It is very important to know not to take magnesium in a large dose. It can be very hard on kidneys. Should be 3 -4 x day tops about 500 mg per dose. It has to be in divided doses so that the body can work with it, it moves out of the body within 6 hours.

Many different KINDS so do read all about each one to find one that best fits your needs.

When considering herbal / nutritional / adjunct methods, because lyme is so very complex & unique, as are possible coinfections:

if at all possible - because each person & each case is different - it's best to consult with an ILADS-educated LL ND (lyme literate naturopathic doctor) (or similar) who has completed four years of post-graduate medical education in the field of herbal and nutritional medicine -

- and someone who is current with ILADS' research & presentations, past and present, and has completed the ILADS Physician Training Program (see: www.ilads.org )

so they really know all they can about the science of lyme . . . how lyme (& other TBD) act and what we can do about that in various ways.

Many LL NDs incorporate antibiotics (depending upon the licensing laws in their state). Some LLMDs and LL NDs have good working relationships.

When possible, it's great to have both a LLMD and LL ND and even better when they have a long-standing professional relationship.

How to find an ILADS-educated LL:

N.D. (Naturopathic Doctor);

L.Ac. (Acupuncturist);

D.Ay. (Doctor of Ayurvedic Medicine);

D.O.M. (Doctor of Oriental Medicine);

Herbal Safety considerations & reference books; etc.

Links to many articles and books by holistic-minded LL doctors of various degrees who all have this basic approach in common:

Understanding of the importance of addressing the infection(s) fully head-on with specific measures from all corners of medicine;

knowing which supplements have direct impact, which are only support and which are both.

You can compare and contrast many approaches with links to articles, books, methods . . .

BODY WORK methods / links (and why anyone who works on your spine MUST be LL to the degree they at least know to never suddenly twist neck or spine. Never. Ever. And that we should never be advised to do neck / head / shoulder stands.)
