My doctor just added Ivermectin to my protocol. Unfortunately, It was at the end of the appt and we had just talked about so much stuff that my brain was completely overwhelmed.

Also, I went into the appointment already taxed from traveling all day before just to get to the office! So I was struggling to think and remember all that I needed to discuss.

Anyways, my RX for the Ivermectin says to take X tablets once a week. But it does not say on empty stomach or with food, in morning or before bed?

Are there any specific instructions that I am missing?

I've taken it before but only as part of a complicated combo.

Thank you friends!!!

ullgghh I honestly don't know much about Ivermectin and I am very new to all of this tick borne illness business, but I remember reading about how bad it was to give to my dog years ago so Im sure its a very hefty drug.

With that being said, I would definitely just call the doc and ask them!

I completely understand the feeling of going to an appointment totally drained and not feeling like you got enough out of it because of it.

I went to the ER last night for rapidly worsening chest pains and shortness of breath.

They did a bunch of stuff that came back normal and the doc said that he thought I might have Lupus, then he said if it was still related to Lyme I would have a bunch of symptoms he started mentioning.

The thing is I do have all of the Lyme symptoms, I honestly can't remember if I mentioned them while there... I certainly don't recall being asked if I was experiencing specific symptoms.

The whole thing was a waste but I honestly didn't have the energy to even try to argue.

A good thing that came of it was they ran bloodwork for all co-infections, which my Dr told me I would need to go to a specialist for. Hope that the hospitals tests are as accurate as LLMD because it will save tons of money.

anyway, I am going off on a tangent...Please call the Dr. They will be able to tell you what you need to know

From WEBMD:

"How to use ivermectin

Take this medication by mouth with a full glass of water (8 ounces or 240 milliliters) on an empty stomach at least 1 hour

before a meal. Ivermectin is usually taken as a single dose or series of doses, or as directed by your doctor."

I have taken Ivermectin 3-4 times. My MD says that if you have a reaction (usually diarrhea), you most likely had

roundworms. If you do not have parasites in your body, then taking Ivermectin is like eating an ice cube: nothing happens at

all.
