I have been treating Lyme on and off with a good LLMD. I was taking magnesium on and off for a little bit at the beginning of treatment. Then took detox baths with epsom salt for a while instead. So in totality,I never really took magnesium regularly. I also felt like i never fully detoxed well enough. I'm sure there is a connection.
I started religiously taking magnesium citrate at the beginning of September and I noticed right away symptoms. I felt crappy, toxic, and my face and eyes looked puffy and kinda swollen, as did my overall body. It's not as severe now a little over a month later but still happens. Did taking magnesium regularly turn on a detox switch in my body and is causing me to release toxins from my cells? And that's what's causing these symptoms. I'd hafta think it's something along the lines of that.
Any insight is appreciated !

- Magnesium citrate is not the best form for what we need it for so you will likely do better with magnesium Glycinate or Malate. Also be sure to never take it all at once, must be divided at least 3 x day.

Sometimes, there are inactive ingredients that can cause sensitivity reactions (such as coatings, binders, fillers, flavorings, etc.).
Also, changing intake of specific electrolyte minerals (of which magnesium is one) may require re-adjusting other electrolytes (such as potassium, sodium, etc.).

I started using spray on magnesium chloride from Ancient Minerals and since have had no issues like I did from other forms. I feel great in that regard. and it absorbs fast.

Hmmm...interesting. has anyone had a bad detox reaction from magnesium? Or known someone who did?

I have read in several places that taking extra magnesium may trigger a a detoxifying release of heavy metals.
