How do I know if my antibiotics are working? I still feel horrible. Should I start feeling better after a month? less?

We never know who will just begin feeling better and who will just feel worse and worse. I felt horrible for the first 18 months. Then gradually better. It's tough!!
If you've only been ill for a few months, then you could begin feeling better in a few months.
Let's hope!

On Oct. 24, doshey said: "I am only on 1500 milligrams a day of Amoxicillin."
As Burrascano said at a lyme meeting I attended, "If the therapy is inadequate, the disease will continue to progress."
So, this is another possible explanation for what is happening to you. Because 1,500 mg of amoxi per day is definitely inadequate therapy for lyme.

Sorry, TF, I forgot to give you an update. I went for a second opinon and the Doctor gave me two different antibiotics and a lot of herbal things. This was about 2 weeks ago. The only strange part was she told me to take the antibiots for 3 days and then stop for 3 days etc. Did you ever hear of that?
