Hi <<<<< LymeNet Family >>>>>,
Hopefully medical is the right place for this question.
We were at my non-LLMD Drs. for a follow up yesterday. And braved the Lyme Issue. They asked me to have a blood test run IGG/IGM, but it is Lab Corp, and I am on ABX.
I did it compliant patient that I am, any chance of it finally showing a positive??? I mean I do count myself as believing in miracles...!
Last Lyme test was back in '06 from Igenix Sero-negative, not CDC positive but suspicious ,w/ follow up suggested. Had a couple positives and several Indeterminates.
I've heard Lab Corp isn't really the best, but it's the best we can do right now.
My Dr. did agree that some recent seizure activity seems myoclonic in nature...So having an MRI and trying to get in to a Neurologist they've recommended. he's not likely LL either.
W/ some demyliniation on an old brain scan, also from '06,I figure they'll think MS...
So chances on the new blood test showing a positive ABX [macrobid] and all...??? I'm not sure.

Hi there <<<<<< Lymetoo >>>>>,
Thanks for the comment , I remain hopeful, but unsure about the ABX.
At least my Dr. here in Vegas, didn't laugh and order us out of the clinic. between us, Txcoord have seen some rather unprofessional behaviour from Drs.
One Dr. in Idaho, who was really ugly mean in an E-mail to us, out of the blue, over the LD issue. And another at the VA SLC Utah, the guy got red in the face, said Lyme can't go chronic, no such thing etc... and stormed out of the room.
I mean really, all we did was ask a question... what'er'ya gonna do? ya know.
So at least my Dr. here didn't get ugly... about it.
Thanks again for the comment!

Hi again,
Well, drat, a couple of GF things I eat have snuck soy in on occasion [it's a 'may contain'], and one has some corn syrup... gggrrrr!!!
I try to be really careful about that... this si [is ]upsetting. I wonder if this can lead to word reversals, and worsening dyslexia...
So frustrating... well , will have to narrow our shopping list some it appears. Thanks again for the link <<<<< Lymetoo >>>>>.
I do hope that you have a Merry Christmas... it is a very precious time of year, even w/ all our struggles!!!

Keep us posted on the test results. Sometimes the tests are done while the patient is on abx, so it CAN work out!
Glad that the doctor has a brain!

I got a CDC positive test through Lab Corp and I was on antibiotics. It's the only lab where I've been CDC positive. I was on doxycycline.
It was my first test too, so Lab Corp does give positives. It isn't hopeless.
I've had several tests through Igenex where I'm Igenex positive, but not CDC positive.

Hi <<<<< Lymetoo, and Judie >>>>>,
Thanks for the encouragement. We haven't heard anything yet, but hopefully I wont have to wait till Feb. when I go see the Neuro' to find out anything.
I have an MRI brain scan, at noon on the 28th, so hopefully that will give some clues too. TxCoord and I described the last couple of 'Myoclonus' like seizure symptoms I have recently, and Dr. didn't like the sound of that.
I don't think the Dr. and/or Neuro are ILADS ,as an ID Dr. was mentioned. But at least the Dr. wanted to see if there were any antibodies in my blood.
We'll see what happens, hoping the bladder infection is gone by Monday, since that MRI is coming up.
Soon as we get any news,I'll post. Wanted to check in this AM but LymeNet was down. Perhaps it was those awful storms. Glad it's up and running!!!
It was like part of the family was missing for a bit.

Hope you get the results you need. Just wanted to let you know that I too tested positive for Lyme with LabCorp while on antibiotics.
So it is possible!

Hi <<<<< sammy, and All who've replied >>>>>,
So far don't know what the results of the blood test are, Dr. is on Vacation, 'til after the 1st.
But it's good to know it could show positive. These Drs. are not LLMD's but hopefully at least some Antibodies will show, even if they are considering it to be a former infection from Lyme.
I figure the LD is still continuing to cause issues and that is why the Myclonic seizure issues are occuring.
Hopefully the Blood test and MRI I had Monday, will give us some clues.

Hi there <<<<< yancync >>>>>,
Thanks for the reply,no news yet,but I hope to hear something sometime this week.
Fighting some sort of sinus respiratory bug right now, and hoping I don't need yet more ABX, the ABX doesn't usually work well w/my system.
And working w/ non-LL Drs. I am hoping they don't just throw my test results out. We had a Dr. do that some years ago because the test wasn't CDC positive at the time.
We'll see what happens.

Silverwolfi here, updating:
Have to wait to go get the results[finacial issues], but they are claiming it's negative. The Doc' who suggested the test, just to check did mention ID Drs if it had been positive. So I doubt that we'll get any help on that front.
They are supposed to be holding the test results for us, so I can compare w/ another test I had run sometime back [Igenix be wont be telling them that].
Don't know anything from the MRI,and the Myclonic seizure type event yet, hopefully we can get some info' before the appt. in mid Feb.
So Still waiting like Cinderella, and Ol' Snow White

Just me Silverwolfi jabberin' again here...
Hopefully I'll have the Labcorp test results next week to check against my Igenix test from 2006.
If they actually get me the results, and not just,a paper stating it's 'negative' by CDC, I'll try to post what it says.
Of course I have no Idea how long the sample may have sat, before they ran it.
We'll see what happens...

By law you have rights to your records and all complete labs get hard or electronic copies of all lab tests.

Thanks SusanK, I just signed her up for Labcorp but they are saying she doesn't have any results, but it may be that it takes a couple hours before stuff happens. Don't know, we'll check back in a couple and see what's up.
