I remember the first time I got a hot flash -- it was around June of 2013. It seemed to be connected to something happening in my gut so for a long time I thought I was either menopausal ( I WAS, but this seemed so profuse, new, and violent); or that there was something wrong with my digestion.

So the "Hot flash" was not the normal hot flash people get. It would start at the back of my shoulders and while my whole body was heating up I would feel a *flood* of something rushing down my arms to my wrists, and then my wrists would ache a little, feel tender, for a little while.

I also had night sweats and still do; eventually it was accompanied by shaking and trembling in my whole body, but especially the back of my neck.

Does anyone remember ever feeling like this?

I really think the hot flash is related to Lyme or a coinfection like Bart or Babesia. Anyone with this symptom they can definitely connect back to a coinfection?

I'm having something similar right now and it does seem connected to diet.

If I eat a lot of carbs I notice I get hot and sweaty

People can say it is candida but I don't think so. I think it is Bart or protozoan. If Bart, likely gastritis related.

The more I read about this ( all day, all night and in my sleep, ha) I feel like I have more Bart symptoms than actual Lyme symptoms.

My stomach has been a problem for two years; insanity in that department, GERD, things just stop working, D for days. All with those hot flashes.

Once my stomach hurt so badly it woke me up - then with the shaking, trembling, etc. Bart.

I had this one time. It was winter and I was at church and all the sudden I felt like my body was going to catch on fire. I went outside quickly and shed as many clothes as possible while still being decent and stood in the freezing cold. It eventually passed but it was scary while it lasted.

Take a look at list of foods high in salicylates. They can cause the overheating if you are sensitive.

I'm currently treating Babesia and if I haven't taken Sida Acuta or Artemisinin for a few days and then take a strong dose, I have hot flashes and night sweats (Herxing). Babesia causes hot flashes and night sweats. If you think you have it, you might try Sida Acuta or Artemisinin. Lately I've only been able to find Sida Acuta on Etsy. A pharmacist told me that there's only one place in Africa where you can get it (at least at the time she told me) and their supplier there had told them that it was (at the time) out of season. However, Etsy does have it. I read on "Buhner Healing Lyme" that he thinks Sida Acuta is actually superior to Artemisinin for treating Babesia. I use both. I think Artemisinin is very good but you have to go off of it for a week every few weeks.

Thanks -- I was looking for Sida Acuta in the usual places online and couldn't find it. Good to know it's on Etsy.
