I herx on stevia, even when on many different combos of abx & herbs & so it appears to be doing something. The very first time I took stevia, nothing happened with the first few packets & not until I got to 4-5 packets later on that night that I finally felt a herx. I first felt weird & unwell within 30-45 min after consuming my final packet.
I also had waves of burning or weird feelings throughout my entire body, as if something bursted & was starting to cause burning in that affected area & then it was briskly swept away by the blood stream. So I would get waves of this burns & dissipation and it felt so weird and nothing like I have ever felt before.
I have also noticed that when taking 2 packets early on in the morning (when I am empty) that I would get a bigger impact than when taking the same two packets on a fuller stomach later on that day.

I read the study on Stevia in alcohol base that was being used to kill LD spirochetes in all stages. I purchased some and began a regime 2 weeks ago. I drink it in a glass of water each morning on an empty stomach with Cellfood also in the water. I add some organic lemon juice or Konbucha tea.
I've been sick all summer with what I believe is a relapse of LD. I hope to get over this. This hacking cough has drug me down for over 3 months.
The fact that I have been consuming alcohol, I know, is not helping. I'm working on that. But I truly believe that this Stevia may be effective, according to the study. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4681354/
Any input?

Any input? The study says it must be alcohol based.......

- Osha root is also helpful for cough.
A major concern I have with taking stevia other than for sweetening in tea or some foods in moderation is that - above that amount - the sweetness signal to the brain (and organs such as pancreas) could go very much haywire in various ways.
It could spark all kinds of bad reactions regarding insulin metabolism / metabolic issues, actually, in that the brain / organs might not know the source of the sweetness, just that it's a major overload.
Only in moderate amount with "normal" use for tea / certain foods does it seem to be okay regarding blood sugar levels. Beyond that, though, many artificial sweeteners have been linked to "circuits going haywire" when the body reacts to sweetness overload.
Although they looked at artificial sweeteners, the same might be true for stevia -- I just don't think the brain / body should be getting such sweetness in large surges.
There are many other excellent plants / herbs that do not have this potential drawback and the others also are of help regarding lyme / TBD. They often get overlooked, though. -
