I tried to walk over the weekend. I only walked two laps at a local school and not even quickly. That night the burning in my head and neck took off. Thoughts were coming in my head that were totally bizarre. I was confused and scared because I couldn't imagine how walking, not running could bring on symptoms. I hadn't even taken any medication that day as the weekends I take a break from my IV. Does anyone have any ideas?

- Two laps would have taken me an hour walking - in the good days. To do that in ten minutes is really something. Although the fact that you say you were not pushing it is important because sometimes it's even when not pushing it that we can be taken by surprise.
The enjoyment of being out, of moving and feeling relatively okay when doing so then feels like a betrayal in its after quake.
So sorry for the boomerang hit, the payback, the crash. And, yes, indeed - it is VERY common for those with lyme. Sorry. Some suggestions for what can help other than cutting way back and doing far less than you feel like at the time (it's hard to judge at the time)
liver support is key as exercise can really stress the liver . . . adrenal support & other ideas here:

- Fumes from the track materials or surrounding artificial turf? There are many reports of illness regarding artificial turf surfaces. -

- You might call the school grounds keepers and ask if perhaps the area had just been sprayed or otherwise treated with any kind of product. -

Back when I was struggling with severe lyme, 10 minutes of walking would take me 2 weeks to recover. You wouldn't believe how many times I tried over the years. Maybe try 5 minutes twice a week.
Dr B suggest light weight lifting over anything aerobic. I was stubborn and paid for it many times. Because walking 10 minutes didn't seem unreasonable; but for many lymies it is.
Do less than what you believe you can do and check out Dr B's suggestions.

The fatigue, exaggerated soreness, and extended recovery time from relatively minimal exertion has to do with an inability for the mitochondria in the cells to produce adequate ATP.

I was physically exhausted all the time back when I was untreated. Then during the time that I was taking abx, I could stand a moderate amount of exercise, but it took me a long, long time before I could do physical work for any length of time.
Now that I'm treating myself with herbs, I can do quite a bit of walking. Because I have Lyme, Babs and Bart and went for a long time (after abx and before herbs) without any treatment at all, it's taking me a long time to build myself back up AND take the herbs and homeopathics I need.
I think that long term treatment with herbs is easier on the body than long term treatment with abx because our bodies recognize the herbs. I wonder if your LLMD switched you over to an herbal protocol if you could build up your stamina at the same time that you treated for Lyme and Co? I think our bodies get tired of antibiotics.
