This is going to be long.....
My mom has LOTS of immune system issues. She has Hashimotos, Positive test for Bartonella,
We strongly suspect Lyme even though, she has never tested positive and diabetes.
She had breast cancer 3 years ago - is in remission now.
Her Candida levels are 89 (range should be 0-2).
She suffers from chronic sinus infections. She had allergy testing done and everything came back positive.
Her Dr (who I have ZERO faith in) wants her to have allergy shots.
My son and I also both had allergy testing done before we discovered the real culprit and we both also tested positive for EVERYTHING.
Our Allergist said he felt something else was going on to trigger such strong reactions to everything.
We treated for Lyme and co-infections once we found them and our "allergies" got better.
I am SO very worried about my mom. I don't think her real issue is allergies and I'm beside myself with worry about what these allergy shots may do to her.
We know her candida is very high and that chronic sinus infections are a symptom of that.
They had their house treated for mold a few months ago. It was non-toxic mold and they were allowed to remain in their house the whole time.
Can anyone share their experiences of allergy shots?
Or if you had chronic sinus infections that cleared with candida treatment? Or what finally helped you with the chronic infections?
I'm very open to ANY thoughts or suggestions.
My mom is tired of being sick for so long, I get that - all of us here understand that, but I'm concerned her choices will make things even worse.
We here are all too familiar with things not really being what they seem. Her Dr is not Lyme literate by the way.....

I need to add......her Dr also had her on steroids for a considerable length of time over a 2 year
period due to constantly getting bronchitis.
That has finally stopped and chronic sinus have set in.
Her eye Dr had her on 80mg (almost certain about that dose - I can double check - it was shockingly high) of steroids for eye problems for I believe it was 90 days.

I'm so sorry to hear this! I really don't know what to tell you. I had allergy shots 30 yrs ago and they helped me. Now I'm not allergic to anything, but yet I react to everything.
I have a feeling your mom is going to do what her doctor says.

Your mom is going to need to approach all this from multiple angles - the Lyme, the candida, be on strong anti-cancer natural remedies (all discussed in Ty Bollinger's two anti-cancer series, Quest for the Cures and Global Quest - notes here if you do a Search for them).
Depends on what's causing the chronic sinus symptoms.
Btw, when I started drinking mangosteen juice, an anti-inflammatory juice, my sinuses drained for two days, and I wasn't even symptomatic! I like the Mango-Xan version, as it's the most tart. In health food stores and online.
Is your mom open to seeing a Lyme doctor recommended by experienced people here?

Tutu....I have a feeling you are correct......sadly.
Robin, yes she was seeing 2 LLMD's but then she got cancer and everything changed directions.
She has the old school mindset that what Dr's say is golden and you don't question them.
She had been warned about steroids from her other Dr's and me,
but her main Dr said she needed them so she took them, but she kept it from me for how long.

Not that a lay-person on a message board has to tell you, but for certain eye disorder, steroids are 100% necessary to preserve vision. So nobody should regret that they were taken.
Whether or not it was good or bad for other things is another issue.

My lyme doc says she believes chronic infections like lyme can lead to cancer ..hpv throat cancer ...h pylori stomach cancer ...ask if she will do abx and or frequency medicine. .2 birds 1 machine?

Many speakers on Ty Bollinger's natural cures for cancer series say natural approaches can be done along with the conventional doctors' approach and may even make it all work better. Not contradictory, really. That helps many to look at what all those suggestions are. Full notes on both series posted here on Lymenet, if you do a search.
Just reread what you posted at the top. You mention diabetes. That could have a diet component. Is she on a diet that does not contribute to that?

Judie - Yes, she has been on Cipro for sure. I'm not too sure about Levaquin.
Bluelyme - she's been on abx for so long that she really tries to avoid them. BUT, she also doesn't follow what she's supposed to do - finish them, take probiotics regularly etc.
Robin - Her diet is not good. At all. I truly think her diet is a huge factor in all of her problems.
Yet, she's losing a lot of weight.
I need to come to terms with the fact that I can't make her do anything.
She's being stubborn and wants a magic pill to fix it all. She's unwilling to fix herself the proper meals.

Cipro can cause ALL the problems you described and if she has Lyme, make it worse.
It can only takes one pill (I'm not exaggerating). Fluoroquinolones are VERY dangerous for some folks.
A lot of people have multiple allergies and MCS caused by cipro and levaquin (they are the same drug, but different manufacturers).

My daughter suffers with Lyme (and co's) right now, and is being treated by ab LLMD.
But I have a few things to say about candida from personal experience. Yes, candida can cause chronic sinus infections, along with acid reflux (GERD, other symptoms too, physical and psychological). Candida overgrowth is insidious, and overlaps with many Lyme symptoms.
The candida diet helped me with all of it, although I still have stuffed sinuses, digestive issues when I go off my diet. No grains at all, no sugar, has been incredibly helpful.

Judie - what is total IgE? I wish I had gotten back online sooner as she had a Dr's appt today.
I wonder if it can be added to the blood they pulled.
Interesting about Cipro - I need to look into that as well.
Bam - I'm sorry to hear about your daughter - I hope she sees improvement quickly.
I'm glad to read you seem to be doing better.
Bluelyme - I spend as much time with her as possible. I just wish I lived closer to her.
I understand your feelings, after fighting for so long, some days it seems easier to give up.
