Did anyone have a bad reaction to nystatin tablets?

And what's this junk in wikipedia about a "small amount" "sometimes" getting absorbed and causing toxicity?

Apparently if nystatin does get into the bloodstream, it is every bit as bad as amphotericin B and can start shutting down the kidneys.

I'm assuming this is low-incidence?

I took them for years. I think I eventually began reacting to the food coloring, so I stopped taking them.

Ok. Someone on this board said even 1/4th tablet made him PASS OUT a minute after he took it.

Another abx for yeast is Clotrimazole Tablets (lozenges). When Nystatin stopped working for me, I took those. They are pleasant to take and work quickly.

More likely from the food colorings than from the Nystatin itself, Ohio.

I took liquid compounded nystatin for a few years, super mega high doses, but never had a problem with it.

The tablets, by the way, have lactose in them, something many people are though to have problems with. The drug companies are jerkballs putting that in there, obviously, but I don't guess it is news that they are jerkballs.

I never took the tablets, because of the lactose.

I am sure there are a number of other reasons you could react badly to it. For example, the food colorings. Also could be just doing some killing and giving the body some work to deal with that.
