Does anyone else have a hard time trying to decide if diarrhea, some acid reflux, nauseau, IBS, etc are from Lyme itself or candida? Then there are parasites, SIBO, Gallbladder and liver issues to wonder about. In the past it seems that antibiotics have actually helped my stomach discomfort. Any experiences to share? Maybe it's a little bit of all of this?

I very much identify with this uncertainty as to the cause(s) of these and other gut problems. I have tried to tackle all the possible causes, but don't seem to have got very far!

all my gut issue I can see are related to the foods I take in,of course carbs being the culprit.
Also herxhiemer reactions to antifungals I believe tells me part of what I have is yeast.
Ive also noticed high histamine foods effect me.
Carbs make you worse and antifungals make you herx =yeast

I have noticed too that carbs definitely affect digestion and the stomach and in the past a low carb diet has worked. Has anyone here done liver/gallbladder flushes? Also at one point in the beginning (years ago) antibiotics took away stomach pain and made my food and chemical sensitivities much better. I have been gluten free but not dairy.

You can try pepto bismol, which has bismuth which kills spirochetes. I've taken so much stuff over the past six months I have no idea what is doing what, but it does calm my stomach some.
Also -- if you still have a gallbladder, spirochetes love the gallbladder. They collect there and in the kidneys. This can cause bile reflux which is miserable -- got my gallbladder out and started on colestipol for the reflux and stomach stuff is rarely a problem now.
Also -- bartonella can cause intractable stomach problems. Gastritis, gastroparesis, etc. In the very beginning levaquin floxed me but it was the first time my stomach had acted normal in a year.

I didn't know that bismuth kills spirochetes! How interesting! What does bile reflux feel like? I have cramping in the muscles under the ribs especially when I move a certain way and sometimes...get this...it feels like a baby rolling around right at the bottom of my ribs. A friend of mine also has these weird symptoms. I also have nausea on and off but the cramps don't seem to come after I eat necessarily. Then there is hiatal hernia which can cause many of these symptoms. Sheesh. Glad you had some luck with your stomach
