Remember that if you use DE, you have to avoid breathing in the dust.

I think im going to return it. It doesnt seem worth it for outside. So far i havent seen them.inside except for those attached. I guess im going to try permethrin if i cant find a company i can afford. My company would charge 1000 a yr

Warning:

Permethrin is toxic to cats.

I would imagine if you are trying to keep ticks from crawling into your home via screens and doorways, DE would be best sprinkled at these thresh-holds. (They will crawl to you, trust me on this)

Pets can be dusted (without a dust cloud)with DE and a blanket with DE in your car or kennel as well may help.

As a whole house or yard preventative measure, perhaps not the effective way.

Unfortunately I have experienced ticks in the house. I think they occasionally hitch a ride into the house on my dog. It doesn't happen a lot but there have been about 4 or 5 times (over several years) that I have found a tick just crawling around in my house (up a door or on the carpet etc). I don't even want to think about the ones that I didn't see. It is extremely unsettling to say the least.

Anyone with pets that go outside should really be careful and keep an eye out because they can bring ticks into the house.

Luckily I haven't seen any in the house in a couple of years (knock on wood) but it can happen. I think especially if it is a particularly bad year for ticks in your area.
