Gave my daughter her first dose this am...she had been feeling good after a week on full strength Doxy. Was supposed to start Rifampin sooner, but dreading herx. But here we are. UGH. Just so sad to see her go through this awfulness.

Although rifampin did give me difficult herxes, rest assured it really, really helped me in the long run.

I'm so sorry you and your family are going through this. Best wishes. If you need support or have any questions, please feel free to send me a private message.

Hi AJB:

Remember to have a good probiotic and you have to be careful with sun exposure (Doxy) and increased fatigue (Rifampin).

thanks all..ugh, not sure we can handle INCREASED fatigue! So far so good w/ sun exposure and she has been on the Doxy full strength for almost 2 weeks. (half strength for one week).
Last night before bed she mentioned chest pain, so now I am extra concerned. It is (literally) always something!!!!!
I have heard that rifampin seems to be very helpful, so I am crossing fingers and toes that she can tolerate it.

She better totally stay out of the sun if she is on doxy in the summer. The chemical burn from doxy is totally, totally horrendous. I would not want any child to experience that.
