Friends, things are bad. I'm literally too weak to breathe. It's horrific. The pain is unimaginable. Prayers for healing and understanding would be wonderful. Thanks friends. [Frown] Sorry to be a downer.

I'm so terribly sorry. It sounds like you need to go to the hospital to be safe, although I can imagine that may be the last thing you want to hear. Saying prayers.

Sam, I am so sorry to hear that you are suffering so much.

It does sound like you need to go to the hospital?

Are you being treated for babesia right now?

P. S. Please don't apologize for being, as you called it, a "downer ". I see it as needing support. I think it's safe to say we understand this is tough stuff, to put it mildly. We all need support at times. [group hug] hugs.

Can you tell us more? Are you treating, and if so, with what, for what?

Also, people here are asking if you need to go to the hospital.

Thanks so much Jordana, me, Lymetoo, Sammy, Robin. The hospital is useless. I would just hurt myself more by trying to sit in the waiting room. Breathing just takes so much effort. I wish someone could breathe for me! My O2 saturation is ok.

Long story short, I've felt too weak to breathe before, but not quite this bad, and Levaquin fixed it. Ever since I stopped Levaquin (almost 3 months ago) I've been getting weaker and weaker. I thought I was herxing but I was wrong, I have just been crashing all this time.

I wish other antibiotics would work, but nothing else has. I started taking Levaquin again about 10 days ago, with doxy this time, so in about 10 or 15 more days breathing should start to get a little more effortless again and hopefully I'll have a tad more strength.

Thanks for telling me not to apologize me. I feel almost guilty for being this bad off. And I sure hate bothering you all. I know most of you all are sick and trying to get well too!

You might want to try some cryptoleptis (helps babs/breathing issues). Start slow.

I wish I knew a way to fix it :/.

What you're describing sounds a lot like myasthenia gravis. It can be caused by Lyme but there is medicine and treatment for it separate from Lyme that does not necessarily involve steroids.

Just a thought. If you had the energy for the ER they might work you up for that.

Thanks me, I sure will!

Catgirl, thanks for the suggestion. I don't think its babs though. This isn't air hunger, it's just feeling too exhausted to even breathe.

Jordana, you know, it could be related to nerve damage. I feel like it's probably my body being overwhelmed by bugs, but maybe it's more. I had a myasthenia gravis workup a while back actually. Whatever it is, though, I know abx will help and the ER wouldn't understand that. Of course if I start turning blue or something my family will call an ambulance!

Robin, yeah, I'm taking Levaquin for Bart/Brucella. I've tried tons of other abx to no avail. I'd really like to treat Lyme at the same time too. I feel like I've just been chasing these bugs in circles and that I need to try to slowly target them all at once.

Why aren't you treating Lyme at the same time? Is it that you can't handle both at once? Or what you doctor thinks you should be doing?

Is levaquin the only antimicrobial you are on now.

What you describe sure sounds like Babs & Lyme to me, but you know your body & it's reactions better than anyone else.

I've had that "too tired to breathe" tons (actually much worse than that phrase sounds. I definitely have been "on my way out" too many times, too. But I'm a fighter, so . . . . as so many of us have to be.

I hope it gets better for you soon. Have you told your doctor? If not, I suggest that you call him/her tomorrow.

Another suggestion that can help is to have your doctor order an oxygen concentrator for you. It's usually a monthly rental that is covered by insurance. If you don't have insurance, you could buy

one used. I've had one a long time, and it really helps with this symptom. No, it's not curative, but it helps you survive under these tough circumstances.

Rumigirl, I'm gonna add more in soon to treat Lyme too. I'm kinda doing my own thing right now, revisiting some antibiotics that I know have helped me before but that I stopped too early. I'm taking Levaquin and doxy right now.

My biggest problem really does seem to be Bart/Brucella. I used to think it was babs but the symptoms I thought were babs improved with Levaquin. My doc told me for a long time he didn't think it was babs but I wasn't convinced.

Your right, "too weak to breathe" really doesn't describe it. T is much worse than that.

Blue, thanks for the prayers. I'm not on Bicillin anymore. I hit a vein and it kinda freaked me out so I quit doing it.

Dal123, I actually have an O2 concentrator. I might try it out again. Last time I tried it it made my heart go nuts.
