Two days in a row now I have noticed what feels like nerve pain in my foot and a couple other parts of my body. It seems to coincide with when I take garlic. The only other thing that I've taken around the same time is B12.
I'm just wondering if this sounds like die off or parasites or if it's being caused by the CBS mutation I have?

- My guess for one possible explanation, especially if it is raw garlic, is that since raw garlic is categorized as a "hot" "yang" herb and therefore stimulating to the nervous system
is that your nerve fibers got a wake up charge, so to speak, and that the pain might likely be sensed more in a place where you have some nerve pressures or irritation.
"Yang" herbs are generally hot, stimulating, & aggressive and often too much to handle by many with adrenal issues, too. Often with herbs, "yang" herbs are balanced with "yin" herbs that are calming, balancing and more tonic in nature.
Same could be said for herbs that are foods. -

- Hmmm. So after a brief date with Google, I'm more intrigued.
Good to find this out now as garlic seems not your "cup of tea" so to speak - at least for now.
If you know you have a CBS mutation, seems you've not yet come across this from Dr. Yasko, an excellent source on this topic, indicating garlic should be avoided
(although I've not read further for any other specifics such as if there are things you can eat along with it to bring it into balance but this seems more a processing issue for your body than a balancing issue):
. . . CBS (cystathionine beta synthase) catalyzes the first step of the transsulfuration pathway, from homocysteine to cystathionine. Dr. Yasko considers addressing CBS mutations as first priority aside from addressing the gut. . . .
. . . There are many things one may need to avoid with a CBS upregulation. Some of the items include
garlic,
broccoli, eggs, onions, legumes, meat, Epsom salt baths,
alpha lipoic acid, glutathione,
chelating agents such as DMPS, NAC, Milk Thistle, various other supplements, and much more.
Please look to other sources for foods and supplements that are high in sulfur. . . .

Source Citation: The book by Dr. Amy Yasko "Autism: Pathways to Recovery" explains much more detail.] -

- Just looking for the book, I'm not sure how it's even possible that the author posted the entire book online here at her own website. Of course, a real book would be easier to read yet it's nice to have this to look over (in time).
FWIW, if you wonder why autism supports are suggested with lyme, many with lyme have some of the same issues with the ability to metabolize toxins and that can really complicate and make more awful, any infection.
