I think I have a handle on bartonella herxes (shooting pains, incontinence), babesia herxes (sweaty, migraines, severe insomnia - like not sleeping for 48 hours , bone pain), but as my LLMD is ramping up Lyme-specific treatment, I'm finding I'm not really sure what a Lyme herx is like.
Thus far, here's what I think I'm feeling today and yesterday....A slight increase in:
-arthritis-like pain in hands, feet, hips
-word-finding issues/word substitution issues
-confusion/difficulty following a conversation
-nondescript flu-like feeling, including sore throat
-red eyes
But it's so vague, I can't tell if it's a flare or a weak herx. Thus, I don't know if I should increase treatment, or back off a bit (or just stay the course, since it's not too bad)
Any advice on Lyme herxes would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I've just started weight lifting (light weights and body weight only). I am treating bartonella right now with rifampin, so the "muscles" I've gained back (in quotes because there isn't much there) are sticking. I'm worried they won't stick around when I go off rifampin, but I guess we'll see.
Not treating mycoplasma - my doc doesn't think it's of importance right now.
yeah - knuckle aches. That's a good way to put that. That's where my hands hurt more this week, and in the finger bones. So, that might be a herx?
