Do most people who start mepron get depressed?
If so, how long until the depression hits?
How long until the depression lightens up?
I just started mepron today.
On a side note, it inspired me to try to learn to play the guitar again so I can write a Blues song about mepron Blues! ha!

- A stressed liver, additional load to filter can cause depression and all kinds of mood issues.
While some kinds of liver support are a bit problematic with mepron as you want to be sure the therapeutic dose is not diminished by supplements (or grapefruit) washing it away too quickly,
still be sure that you have adequate liver / kidney support.
Mild exercise can help, too. Walking, gentle yoga or pilates, Qigong, Tai Chi. Body movement help distribute medication and also help move out the "trash" from the body. Nothing too vigorous yet do move your body as best you can, even if dancing around the living room a bit several times a day - in slo mo.
Be sure your WATER is a nice steady supply, too. Not too much at once, spread out so that you don't get dehydrated (that can cause terrible depression).
LIVER & KIDNEY SUPPORT & and several HERXHEIMER support links, too. -

FoxyLoxy, I'm actually not depressed right now. I've just heard the phrase "Mepron Blues" and am wondering what to expect, when to expect side effects if they occur, etc.
Thanks for the responses, Tincup, Keebler, and FoxyLoxy.

Thanks so much for the responses; I really appreciate it.
For those of you who have been on Mepron, what were your experiences?
How long until depression came on?
How long did it take for depression to reduce while still being on Mepron?
I'm just trying to do my due diligence and brace myself for possible side effects and plan ahead.
On a side note, I did start to re-learn some basic blues rhythm guitar chords in case I need to write a blues song! Giggle.

Working on the jam, Blue. Judie, did it turn your teeth majorly brown? Is it reversible? Was it all the sudden or did it slowly develop?

OH NO on the teeth!!!!!!! I already had problems with a weird grey scum that grew close my gums. Took the dentist and hour and a half to get off!!!!!!
Me, I am glad you aren't depressed. I am hoping this is helpful and not harmful. This meds sounds a little rough....... now I am scared of it.

I was on Mepron for months before getting the Mepron Blues. It felt like a funk that just would not lift. After a couple of days, I connected it with the Mepron, let my dr know and he took me off of it. And the fog lifted within a day or two. It's not permanent.
IMO, it's not a reason to avoid this important med. All meds have side effects. It's good that you are aware and if your mood turns low and won't turn around, this could be it.
I am glad I took this med and believe it helped me a lot.

This makes me feel more comfortable about taking this drug, and encouraging too!
Me, I guess if our teeth turn brown, but we feel better, we will just flash tan grins at each other huh? I would give up my teeth to feel better!! (and my white teeth mean a loooooooooooot)

I'd be down for flashing tan grins (although I prefer a grin of pearly whites), but if it makes me better, then tan grins it is!
Thanks, WPinVA and FoxyLoxy
