I would like to know about any dosing amounts or schedules you all use for Ivermectin.

For instance, when you write that you take it every day, or three out of 7, or every other day, or whatever, are you referring to just one 3mg tablet or a full dose of 3-4 tablets (9-12mg) each day? Thanks!

Hi windingshores, when I very first took ivermectin it was part of a Dr. K parasite protocol. I have seen some folks dose it as much as 12 mg 3-4 times a day for the protocol. The first few times I did it I took it twice a day.

I always got huge improvements with treating parasites but if I don't do maintenance my parasite sx come back. Once they get going my Lyme/cos sx all get worse too. My doc has me on the iver every day for now. I prefer it in conjunction with other parasite meds, the synergy tends to cover more of the different life cycles at the same time.

I did Dr. K's combo. I also did Ivermectin (6 tabs/day @ 1x week) & Alinia 4x out of the week on the same run.

I felt what might be a small herx at the beginning with Alinia, but nothing with Ivermectin other than vibrations/scatterings on the very first day/week. The next few times it was easier to take.

The only thing that I have felt with anti-parasitics is a battered system & utter exhaustion towards the end. Never any improvements & it seemed like it brought something else out, maybe viral?

Thanks to both of you. I am using it for bird mites which seem to have a life cycle of 7-8 days. Ivermectin has a half life of 20 hours or so so trying to come up with a protocol myself, with the permission of my doctor.

I have taken several doses of Ivermectin once per week over a two month period at the dose recommended for my bodyweight, which you can check as I don't think we are supposed to give full dosing info here. Twice I have let it go as long as 2 weeks.

The general crawling, nipping and itching has died down a lot, but not actually gone altogether, especially in my scalp. I should add that I don't think that bird mites are involved in my case, but you never know! I am not thinking of continuing for much longer, but may move on to try mimosa pudica....have no idea whether this will have an effect on mites or not.

I know many people with Lyme or on parasite meds have taken Iver at higher doses daily, but judging from my fatigue and nausea, this would be too much for me. It does seem to have stirred up something, even though I don't have side effects immediately after taking it.

I am glad that your doctor is prepared to work with you on this, as that should help to reassure you.

I tried once a week and then found two days in a row had a more dramatic effect. The crawling and biting you describe is basically what I am experiencing.

Dose by weight is easily accessed. I was wondering how many days/week for how long etc. Some people on here take quite a bit of Ivermectin!

Good luck. And I will be curious to hear about any alternatives.

I have now taken a mere two capsules (500mg) of mimosa pudica as separate doses three days apart from one another and after the second capsule I have had three day of being out of it, strong fatigue and brain fog, so I suspect that it is hitting something. It may be coincidence, but my scalp has been much calmer.

There is a research paper showing that in vitro mimosa p paralised strongyloides larvae within an hour, but Dr K seems to think that it has general antparasitic effects. Ivermectin is not supposed to have an effect on eggs /larvae. I am thinking of using mimosa for longer now, going very slowly.

I am also using Soolantra (Ivermectin creme) on my face for rosacea / presumed demodex mite overgrowth. It is certainly having a positive effect on the rosacea. Occusoft Plus and Cliradex wipes are good if you have mites on your eyelids.
