Ok, I finally have to admit this to myself.

I'm having problems with my heart. I think it may have something to do with Babesia, and possibly (not absolutely sure) the medicine Lyrica, which I'm going to stop. Also wondering about Fludrocortisone?

I'm having a pounding heart, occasional "earthquake" like feelings when it feels like the earth (or chair or bed) is shaking underneath me, and I realize it's actually my body, trouble with POTS, sudden episodes of tachycardia that later dissipate. Sometimes I feel my pulse in my entire body, all the way down to my feet. I'm also short of breath, which used to be due to asthma, but I'm not having any problems with asthma, and it happens when I'm climbing stairs, or standing up after the sauna, or sometimes just walking across the room, or during a hot sweat.

I called my cardiologist's office, and they said they didn't have any appointments available until the 30th, and just to go to the ER. I'm sorry, but I have PTSD from two horrible ER experiences, and I'm not going to either of the two ERs here. I simply can't. Besides, I don't think my life is in danger, although noone ever knows.

I used to be on Bystolic, but no insurance company pays for that anymore, so this doctor put me on Metropolol, which seems pretty worthless. I asked the receptionist if she could ask the Dr. to put me back on Bystolic, and she said they don't change medicines on people.

Meanwhile, I'm about to go out of town. I bought some coq10, krill oil, and hawthorne berries today.

What else should I do? Is this dangerous? I have had some numbness in my left arm, but no pain.

M

I'm very sorry to hear this.

Two ideas: 1. Primary care physician? He or she could maybe get a EKG ordered or something done sooner.
2. Some urgent care centers are equipped with heart monitoring devices.

One more--did you ask to be put on the cancellation list at the cardiologist's office?

Hey me,

Thanks for the concern.

As for primary care, She's only open there on Wednesdays, and she's at another office on other days, although I could try one of her partners. But I'm supposed to go out of town on Monday!

The urgent care centers just plain suck.

And, no, I didn't ask about the cancellation list; I could try that!

Or, I could try an ER somewhere else, in a completely different town, or an urgent care in a different town . . . I'm thinking Wilmington NC, I'm going to be near there if I ever make it . . . .

I think I'm in denial!!!

Yes, at least try to get an EKG so you know if it's something really serious.

The earthquake feeling could be A-fib .. maybe.

The CoQ10 helps my heart tremendously.

Keep us posted on how you are doing!

PS.. Be sure to take that appointment on the 30th .. just in case you need it.

Magnesium may help. Also there is a smart phone app called Kardia that lets you do home ekg's.

Hi all,

Lymetoo, Afib? Holy moly. That's a bit scary.

I would really like to know how much CoQ10 you take? My LLMD said to take Hawthorn, which I got from Walmart, but I'm going to order it online.

She seconded the idea of Magnesium, so I'm going to take it at night instead of in the morning.

Why does it get worse at night? Does anyone have a clue?

I don't have a smart phone.

She (meaning the LLMD)said to go to an ER in a different town if I need to; that way I wouldn't have to relive my PTSD (at least not quite to the same extent).

What kind of magnesium is best for heart problems?

Thanks, M

Cardiologist said heart has to work harder when you're lying down, which surprised me. Seems counterintuitive.

So try getting up and walking around when it happens to see if things settle down. Sometimes just moving your feet is enough.

Lymetoo is the expert on magnesium!
