I am looking for recommendations for a good Omega 3 Fish/Borage Oil capsule. Size small to accommodate swallowing problems.
One that doesn't break the bank would be nice. I am taking Nordic Naturals Junior (small sized caps) which are very nice- but just realized I am taking way too little (dose), and to increase the number of capsules it would cost too much.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
BTW- Years ago I thought it a good idea to oil my fishing reel with fish oil rather than a stinky chemical based oil. To open the large capsule I bit the end off.
The fish oil was VERY rancid and it squirted into the back of my throat and down it before I could spit the capsule out. Made me sick for days! Still shudder thinking about it. So I am REAL picky on the oil being fresh!

I use Carlson's but I can't say the capsules are small.

Andy- thanks! Looks good! Can you tell me if the capsules are small? I saw they said a "capful" as a dose at one place, so not sure if it also comes in another form other than the capsules. ??
2roads- yes, I do like that brand. And the capsules are small. Just hoping to find something not as costly if possible.
Tutu- you make me laugh. Can you say they are large? I will check into that brand too. Thanks!

Tincup, I've gotten used to swallowing pills for awhile now so they don't bother me but I wouldn't say they're huge by any means. If you look at the amazon reviews there are a few users who have posted pictures of the capsules.

I like the coromega squeeze packets. They taste like orange cream and are supposed to be 3x more absorbable than ordinary fish oil but the best part is that's way less pills to take each day.

Excellent suggestions!
Terv, thank you! Got to say though... I pucker up when I think of drinking fish oil- like eating a really sour pickle!
As sensitive as I am to that nasty taste I'd probably need a tug boat full of other stuff to mix that oil in to be able to get it down. You are MUCH braver than I am!!
Will look closer at it though. Sometimes old dogs can learn new tricks!
KMS- Didn't know about that site! Gonna look up all my stuff with it. Many thanks for providing it!
Andy- I saw the site and a few comments when you first shared your info, but didn't read many comments. Will go back and look. Thanks for your responses and help!
Amber- never heard of that, but I am with you on the less pills to swallow the better! Looked it up to see if any artificial colors and NONE! That's great!
I can't imagine making fish oil taste like orange cream, but it would be nice if it did!

There is a website that grades supplements and fish oil is one of them. It is labdoor.com. They look at things like efficacy and safety. I had been using Nordic Naturals and was surprised to find that Sam's Club fish oil was graded higher that Nordic Naturals. They are pretty big capsules, though.

Hey one...
That website is really good. Just looked up Melatonin and one of the best brands we've found was listed as an "A". Can't wait to use it for the other items. Thanks!

Tincup, you could try changing your technique of swallowing pills. For me it works best when I take a sip of water, keep the water in my mouth and add the pill to it (try not to spray the kitchen floor), let the pill go to the back of your mouth/tongue (some sink, some float) and then swallow. You may find it easier. Just give it a try!
