The past year I've been relying on two prescriptions from my PCP and my neurologist for ativan and klonopin.
Because of my hijinks at the ER they refuse to refill either one and also denied my request for flexeril for my back.
This would be a whole post in itself. When I appeared nonthreatening and relatable I got the drugs. Now that I'm inexplicable...no dice.
I wasn't addicted to these things and I took really tiny amounts daily but they sure helped me sleep, focus and sometimes just relax away from the fact that my body was going nuts. I am now without pharmaceutical assistance.
I've tried L-theanine, skullcap, holy basil, magnesium, and melatonin. I hate them all, they just make me groggy and make it even harder to think.
Anybody got anything else I can try? I'm thinking about ordering CBD or trying to get kratom.

What about neurontin? It works similar to klonopin. I don't think it would be a complete replacement but it might help some.
I had withdrawal from klonopin a year ago, so I feel your pain. I'm glad I got off of it though. I take neurontin, melatonin, and Benadryl now.

Yeah I was thinking about making an appointment and trying to wheedle my way into another prescription but that seems like a stupid place to put my energy.
Does neurontin have another name?

DING< DING <DING... lightbulb moment.
Message to me from just one of the people trying to go off benzo's that I've watched suffer terribly. The symptoms are sometimes Lyme like- neuro stuff mostly- and they are often much worse and much more wicked than Lyme itself.
Most people can't tell their increased problems are from stopping psych meds and not Lyme. And I am talking about very educated Lyme people.
"If people try Withdrawing the wrong way...they will live through he** .. one thing for sure is they should never cold turkey off benzos or any psych med."
And NONE of them thought they were addicted to them until they got steamed rolled and put into a crisis when trying to stop.

So sorry Jordana. Just what u don't need is another stressor.
How about seeing a mental health professional? I have never been to one but know plenty of others who have. And they always walk out with some sort of script for some kind of something. And it might work, hopefully.

Thanks TC.
I liked having them around for when my neuro stuff went crazy or when I couldn't sleep, but as long as I had them it was always under a milligram or less, once before bed.
It was comforting to know they were there to calm my nervous system down. I miss that sense of security more than the actual drug.

. Not a bad idea Bonnie. I'm not sure I can afford to go on record as a psych in the system though. Once you go in, you never get out.

What about asking your PCP or Lyme doctor to prescribe the medications that you need?

The PCP cut me off and wouldn't even give me flexeril for back pain. I was hoping to have that on hand just in case my back went out again. I only asked for it because this was the only thing that made it possible for me to move and get to the ER when my thoracic spine slipped a disc.
No ativan, no klonopin, no flexeril. The only thing she'll refill is blood pressure meds.
I mean come on. Sometimes I wish I had a veterinarian.
The Lyme docs here are very hesitant to offer anything past antibiotics. Since benzos are controlled substances they really try to stay away. You can go to jail for inappropriately prescribing such things.

I agree with Tincup. I only took 1/2 a milligram, but I took it every night, and stopping it was a slow painful process. I reduced slowly. I knew I was addicted though.

I don't think I was addicted.
But I was dependent enough to be pissed off and insulted when they cut me off.

If you get withdrawal from Klonopin or occasional sleep problems try Gabamax Gabatrol Powder.

You should search for posts from LSG Scott or private message him.
He had a terrible time coming off Benzos and got symptoms that seemed like they were Lyme but they weren't.
Get off those terrible drugs NOW.

Update on Gabamax Gabatrol Powder:
Kept me up all night in a bouyant and pleasant mood. Surfed Reddit til 7 AM.
I'm going to stick with it for when I need energy and to cheer up a little.
I wonder if this is what Gabamax had in mind...

terv I don't have any pain. My symptoms have been superneuro since the beginning; tremor twitching bobbing waving shaking stumbling swooping swelling sweating sleeping gasping spacing and so on.
Thinking was not a problem til I was on tetracyclines. It brought *that* back to somewhere bearable.
