I am getting such bad nausea now. it lingers almost constant, but now I get intense fits that hits in an instant and then immediately (almost) it surges up to my head and I get a terrible hot flash.

and now my stomach is really hurting all the time as these episodes have gotten more frequent and intense. now today my stomach feels like there is a big dough ball inside of it.

I was dx with gastritis when al lthis lyme stuff hit big- is that part of this? the lyme? is this "just" gastritis?

I recently found out about chiari and going to nuerologist monday to rule that out (I guess).

I am having the same, except where yours turns into a hot flash mine feels like the sensation of just getting off a ride, floor giving out under me. Like a wave of blood pressure feeling. This has all been since they diagnosed me with a murmur I never had and are blaming it on fibromyalgia.

Hot flashes with tummy things are sometimes blood sugar. Low blood sugar sounds an alarm in your body that kicks up adrenalin so your brain can keep working. It could be hypoglycemia -- try a little bit of sugar? with fat to slow down delivery?

Cheese and honey do it for me.

Jordana, yes! that is what drs thought about 15 years ago when my sx really started kicking in ...

I had umpteen hypoglycemic testing done and it is not that.

all this settiled when I first had disease tx, but now all of a sudden has resurfaced and I think it may be hormone related to me.im at that age and I agree it can throw things off, but with my rocky past of methylation and body way off track it is no surprise to ME that hormones are totally low and testosterone included. I now have thos same sx coming again from those years ago

like when I do any sort of exercise I get so flushed and then have to lie on the floor with fatigue that is instant and totally overwheliming.

it is not sugar for me, but may be my adrenal issue complicaitong things becaseu I lack testosterone and therefore affecting my pancreas. ?

I am allergic to suger cane, so im trying to really stay away from that. plus if I take sugar when that comes on (ive tried in the past) I get worse sx. not better.

im so messed up. no systems working together. no wonder im a mess.

so an update to this thread:

I had more hormone testing and found I lack several ones needed
waiting for cortisol test (saliva) to come back - takes weeks, UGH

I now had 2 drs tell me I'll need hormone replacement of some kind. the one also gave me the cortisol saliva test, thank God, and he says wait for that to come back ,

but I am dying waiting.... no one should like like this. the way I feel is unbearable. and I am so sorry that anyone has to live with pains that make you feel life is this hard to live. dont know how people do it. and im starting to rethink my thoughts on mercy killlings .

not good.

well it turns out that the lab faxed the dr office the lab results on November!! 29th!!! and they lost them...

my AM cortisol was elevated, and im thankful that I finally have validation over something that has caused me pain and at time unbearable.

and last year the mean endocrine dr I saw told me "you look too good to have adrenal problems" and she made me cry she was yelling at me for wasting her time.

and here it is. in the RIGHT kind of test. finally a dr would give me the one I wanted and he even suggested it first. while all the others did the regular bloodwork and said everything
s fine.

so that was high.
DHEA is depressed
and sIgA is low.

so now what? anyone know what they will do for me? my testosterone is really low too, plus 2 other hormones

LisaK, curious about your thyroid.

My DHEA just showed elevated and I have no idea why. Hell, I had to google dhea just to know exactly what it was and did lol.

I also have been dealing with low T3 and wonder if the 2 are connected.

I know elevated dhea mostly happens in PCOS which I don't think I have. I just had an abdominal ultrasound which should've shown this I think.

I'm waiting on a call back from my llmd concerning the dhea. Any input from your experience would be great.

Thanks.

well, hormonal issues can cause problems with blood sugar. Cortisol is high in the morning because blood sugar is low. If your other regulatory hormones are out of whack they won't work to regulate your blood sugar ( insulin is a hormone), which kicks off cortisol, which pumps adrenaline to get sugar into your brain.

This cycle during the day comes in about 90 minute intervals. You can shut down the adrenaline by raising your blood sugar and sometimes your salt levels. This won't solve your hormonal problems but it might make you less symptomatic while you're waiting for the doctors.

thanks Jordana, I crave salt like a crazy person and pour it on everything. well, not really, but I do use it a LOT. my blood sugar is alwyas tested not hypoglycemic. but what you say makes sense... I think some of this is genetic factor involved for sure, but will ask my gene dr today at my apt. at 2pm.

ill post lateer an update when I know more...

I eat a lot of salt, too -- my cortisol is high by saliva test. The endo then said it was not genuinely high cortisol because it didn't fit the whole pattern.

My PCP told me to stop eating salt because of my high blood pressure.

Whatever. Eat the salt, it feeds the adrenals.

Amberlin, my DHEA is suppressed.

ok, so I am trying to let all I jsut learned today sink in....

the other day had apt with functional med dr (finally) and he taught me a lot about my adrenals.

I knew if I wait til my apt today with the gene dr (an ND) I'd have even more answers and I was right~!

they discover new stuff every day. found 4 new variables on the glutimate issue for me. but big news is that I def. have genetics for celia which about 10 years ago they said no. and

my iron absorption rate is more than 5 times the average rate. so this means a lot. and a lot of my pains, and organ problems and yes, even my dementia is caused by THIS.

so much info.... and no promise of getting it right. so if not im screwed, but I have hope.
