My son's DNA Connecxions test just came back. It only shows that he has Ehrlichia chaffeensis. Can a person have this without getting Lyme. I thought this was a co-infection of Lyme.

I am not sure how DNA Connexions testing works. But I tested positive for erlichiosis without testing positive for Lyme on Western Blot, when I first was tested through Igenex 5 years ago.
Lyme testing is very inaccurate with high chance of a false negative. It turned out that I had a positive PCR for Lyme and we later learned I was positive for borellia miyamotoi. So it is possible (likely) that your son also has Lyme, even with negative testing.
I believe doxy and related meds (tetracycline, minocycline, ...) all treat erlichiosis.

Doubtful. I just looked at your threads, noticed he has PANDAS. IMO, your son has lyme and co infections. Symptoms rule, not blood tests. Try to relax, his lyme doc will know what to do. You're on the right path. In the interim, there is a good book called: Cure Unknown (Weintraub) that will help. Also Stephen Buhner's books on lyme and co infections are great. There is even one on ehrlichia.

Ehrlichia means a lone star tick bite. You absolutely CAN have ehrlichia without having Lyme but the thing is it's unlikely to go chronic without Lyme.
DNA Connexions is tricky. What shows up on that test is absolutely positive ( as far as I believe, my doc is not so sure) -- but that doesn't mean he doesn't have more than one co-infection. I would treat for Lyme.

I recommend you do like Dr. Klinghardt & perform a deep body massage, especially in the tender & painful areas before getting any PCR tests. These areas will most likely contain the colonies & biofilm that will be released into the blood stream during the massage.
From the microscopy work I have done, I have also noticed that when I had trouble finding spirochetes in my blood, that a hot bath or suana brings the spirochetes out & they are then picked up by the white blood cells, as I see many cysts withing them, which then open up after the wbc lysis.
So I would imagine that a sauna or hot bath to open up the circulation into the biofilm colonies & then a massage combo would be supreme to get more pathogens into your blood stream & increase the chances of a positive on those PCR tests.
If you have a deep & profound infection, you will feel worst with heat treatment + the massage, which is a good sign your doing the right thing.
Below Dr. Klinghardt info:
Since the Borrelia is known to want to hide in tissues, they perform deep body tissue massages in the pain areas for 1 hour, since those areas are the regions that will have larger colonies and the pathogens can then be released into the blood stream for the blood test. They then measure the urine for factors that are filtered by the kidneys from the blood stream. It is the provoked urine PCR test. Out of 120 patients from their office who have been given initial diagnosis of Fibro, CFS/ME, MS, Parkinson's, so far only 2 patients out of 120 have tested negative, which makes this the highest yielding Lyme Disease test so far. This test was available only to his patients, but they are looking into making it public.
