I finally have a PICC after wayyyyy too many years of trying to obtain it, during which I was most definitely "undertreated" and everything progressed (bart, babs, Lyme). At this point, I still don't know if it's too little too late, though I've been doing IV meds for some time now.
I would love to know how/if IV Clindamycin helped people, at what does, with which bugs since in theory it may help with both neuro Lyme and babesia. If it helped you with babesia, which strain? How long did you treat with it?
I've read some positive accounts that it can sometimes be a turn-around drug, so I'm remaining cautiously hopeful.
Thanks!!

I had oral clindamycin and it was the right antibiotic for me - took my Lyme fibro pain to zero in a week's time. We're all different when it comes to what works for us.
We're not going to know until we try. I always suggest trying a very small amount of anything to see if we're going to tolerate it.

I think my LLNP is going to try IV Clindamycin on me in the near future. She wants to give the rocephin and flagyl longer before switching. I don't have a confirmed case of babesiosis but we suspect I probably do have it based on some of my symptoms.
My LLNP tells me that IV clindamycin has helped her patients that have babesia as well as other coinfections. I actually look forward to trying it because I have never taken it - orally or IV.
Let us know how things go. Good luck!

Well so far all it has done is making me feel like puking, but it has only been a couple of days and I remain hopeful : ) I will keep posting.
dbpei, that's amazing you found an LLNP. Curious what state you are in now. And cool that whoever it is is having success w/ IV Clinda. I am hoping for babesia help esp. since I could not tolerate Mepron or other babs orals except herbs but for short period of time.
