Try 3g of niacin (vitamin B3, 3g=upper limit) per day. Take it once in the morning for a week and see what happens. It made a huge difference for me and cleaned up 90% of an overgrowth in just a few days.

I haven't experienced it, luckily. I took three grams a day for about 2 months just to be safe. Worked very well for me.
