I got really miserable (air hunger, achy, nausea, spacey, pain) My LLMD says it is babesia. So, now I'm on Clindamycin and mepron.

A day or so after starting them, i noticed bulging right under the arms of my glasses from near my eyes to close to the ears. I have an awful headache, with pressure all around. I did call my LLMD and was told to continue the meds.

I am wondering if this indicates swelling under my skull that is coming out at the edges? If so, how dangerous is this condition?

It's been since Monday and now it's Thursday. I have taken pain relief, but still this headache is pretty bad. I could up the meds, but feel that I need to address the reason for the headache.

Is this a common thing with Babesia? That would be reassuring to me.

Sounds like your sinuses are swelling. This will cause terrible pressure and, therefore, headache.

Try an antihistamine and a decongestant.

It is not swelling under the skill. That would be brain swelling. Brain swelling has no outlet. There is no opening in the skull for when the brain swells.

So, this is not serious, but it can be extremely painful. I have suffered it for years. If I take a 12 hour Claritin D, I will be OK, but I have to take it daily. You have to buy this med at the pharmacy and show your driver's license to get it. It is NOT a prescription.

Hope this helps you. I get ringing in the ears when I get this condition. It all goes away with Claritin D.

Also, get a good magnesium. These illnesses deplete our mag and that can lead to migraine headache. I like Mag-TabSR as recommended by Burrascano.

Thank you, TF.

I have had a lot of sinus trouble since moving to the high desert. Antihistamine helps. Actually, I was also getting facial migraines, of all things. Avoiding eggs has taken care of that.

These lumps are only in the areas between the eyes and upper ears. I also have had about the worst pressure headache in my life.

Anyway, thank you for the reassurance. The pain has lessened this afternoon, so I'm not as freaked out..

After two 5-month rounds of mepron, I still had babesia which I finally got rid of with the Buhner protocol for which I made my own tinctures.

I have swelling on the right side of my head and it is from lyme. I'm doing the Buhner lyme protocol with great improvement but using essential oil of oregano, diluted with vegetable oil, has really helped with the swelling. I combine and smear over the swollen area.

Thank you, lymenotlite.

Someone has identified the lumps as lymph nodes. This makes sense to me as my detox process is very slow. So, it means the change in my meds is being effective.

Just an update in case it's helpful to someone.

The swelling (feels like cords just under the surface from eyes to upper ears) has almost completely resolved. A while back I had a change in treatment and it got worse again, so I'm sure it's toxins slowly leaving my system.

Hi daisys. It is my understanding that Mepron needs to be taken with Biaxin (Clarithomycin) or Zithromax to be absorbed properly. I recommend speaking to your doctor about this.

I have had the worse headaches of my life from Babesia, and they can intensify during treatment. I am sorry you are experiencing them. For me they went away with treatment, but it took some time.

I know I had intracranial hypotention.
I get mine from eating certain foods because my genetic testing showed my mitochondria doesn't work properly.

When I eat gluttamate containing foods I get the swelling in my head. it is terrible. strong black coffee can help a bit.

once I started on my anti inflammatory meds from the genetic consultant it is under control but I still avoid eating large amounts of glutamate.

Sammi, thank you so much for catching that. I was on clarrithromycin, and right now I'm on lindamycin and atovaquone (generic mepron?).

I will definitely bring this up with my LLMD.

LisaK, I know in the past I avoided glutamate. I didn't feel any different. Twice though, I have avoided eggs for years and then started back a little at a time. I can go a while with no problem, but eventually I get migraines.

It's really crucial to identify foods that cause problems. I really miss eggs and glutened foods, but giving in has been aversion therapy--it's just not worth it to enjoy for a brief time.
