Hi, I live in Northern NJ. I haven't been diagnosed. I want to get tested. Who or where would be the best place to go?
A few have said there are no good Lyme docs in NJ. I am willling to go out of state. Should I be tested by a doc here first, or go right to a good LLMD doc?
I feel I have most of the symptoms of Lyme. I haven't felt good in years, and I've spent the last 20 years camping. I don't remember getting bit or having a rash.

Here are some quotes from old posts about NJ:

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Read the books written by the top LLMD, Dr. H, titled, "Why Can't I Get Better?" and his new one, "How Can I Get Better?". They are an excellent source of information.
Read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Get it at your local library or buy it used on Amazon.
Btw - I know you are new to Lymenet, but please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme.

I drive 5 hours to see a Lyme Doc in Jersey. I know of two who treat late stage Lyme, but I don't believe either of them accept insurance, if that's what you are looking for.
