Just got back from seeing Dr. S. I had a strong positive for Bartonella. Start 3 abx tomorrow. I think this is the answer to the constant anxiety and fear. It was worth the 2.5 hr drive! Lyme test was negative. Thanks everyone for your input on the anxiety issue.

Bartonella anxiety is the WORST !

Not to mention the lumps and bumps, burning feet and tongue, insomnia, impending doom, dizziness, veins not where they are suppose to be, and PAIN !

You WILL get better and stronger with treatment. Good luck kitty lover.

Meds are Zithromax, Rifampin & Minocycline. Took them all before when I had lyme 10 or so years ago, no side effects, thankfully. Probiotics, B12 & folate. He used Galaxy Diagnostics.

I'll be so glad when I can escape this grip of terror and when my brain doesn't feel like it's too big for my skull!

When you had Lyme before how long did you treat for ? Is this undiagnosed bart from before ?

Were you symptoms free all this time ?

When I had Lyme before, I had symptoms for 2 years, all bizarre neurological sx. The first symptoms showed up in my eyes as irritation then extreme light-sensitivity. A headache everyday for 2 months and many, many more symptoms. I saw 14 doctors in 3 states trying to get answers until I stumbled upon a Lyme sx list online. I found Dr. S and was treated for 3 yrs. with 8 different abx. At that time I was not positive for Bartonella but did have some sx so he did treat me for it. It was a long road and honestly don't think I'd be here today if not for him. I have been 100% symptom-free since then.

I don't know if this is an old infection from before or a new infection. Even before, I do not recall being bitten by anything nor did I have a rash or flu-like illness. Weird things just started happening and I started running to various doctors always being dismissed as a nut-case.
