I am in the middle of my 3rd month of treatment for lyme and babesia.
I am taking minocycline, mepron, and clarithromycin. I was originally on plaquenil, mino, and clarith, until we started treating with mepron.
I believe the plaquenil is to take care of the cyst version of the germ in connection with the other meds.
Last month (month 2), I was doing much better than month one, and the herxes were very few and far between. I had really only one bad day with the herxes and I was just having severe panic attacks off and on for about 2 hours.
My LLMD didn't want to keep the plaquenil on because he said he doesn't like to add too much at once as generally people are feeling pretty bad when they start. He didn't want to overload me on toxins.
On month one my herxes were causing some pretty scary heart issues, so we were moving pretty slowly. These for the most part have resolved or are much more manageable.
Also, heart tests show everything is fine, but it was originally a concern for us moving forward with too many meds at once. My cardiologist is not concerned.
However, I know I am supposed to be feeling bad as things die off. But for the most part, I am not. I see my doctor next week and will discuss this with him, but wanted to know what others thought.
Last month, I would say that I wouldn't even think about another med to add, but this month now I wonder...
Being so new at this I am unsure what to expect to feel and for how long. I know it differs for everyone, but was concerned because I am feeling better so quickly.
And, yes, I am counting my blessings!!
Thank you for your input!

People don't always feel bad before feeling better. I personally wonder if the whole "herxheimer" deal has been blown out of proportion as to what it truly IS.
I personally, have had times when my medication has simply made me feel better.
I think there is just a lot of ups and downs with this disease.
I also don't think "herxing" is always good for you to do anyway. It is a flood of toxins that your body can't get rid of fast enough and is hard on the body!
If you are indeed feeling better, praise God for the rest of your life and bless others with your health!

Thanks foxy for your response! I am okay with the fact that my medicine will just make me feel better.
What a wonderful change that would be!
Hopefully I am still killing things off at a good pace and all of the detox is keeping the herx away!
I have certainly forgotten what it was like to feel good and do pray others can feel the same!

- The right Rx at the right time for the job - with the right protections in place - can make all the difference.
LIVER & KIDNEY SUPPORT & and several HERXHEIMER support & protection links, too.
For your EARS, too (still, physical hearing protection is also vital against some sounds). -

Phew, that is a lot of info. Some I looked into before, but a good refresher course is always a good idea! Thank you again Keebler.
I noted this part, "I actually had a conversation with my LLNP about cyst busters, as to when to use them etc.
She said she does not use cyst busters - UNTIL - she feels symptoms are under control as to hit the body with too much at once will just be detrimental to the immune system.
(Ellen101)"
I thought this was a relief as another poster on here was questioning my doctor because I was not taking cyst busting medication on top of everything else.
But that is exactly what my LLMD told me about the cyst busting medicines and why he does not want me on 5 medications at once, especially when starting.
So I will take this time of feeling good as a relief and enjoy it!
