What is everyone's babesia symptoms ? I know there are lists but I'm wondering about personal experience .

My story : basically in 2011 I started treating with Dr Mc and was diagnosed with Lyme bartonella and babesia . I treated for 2.5 years and slowly got better .

Returned to work full time , went back to school to become a nurse , divorced , bought a house etc etc and was relatively symptom free for 3 years

Now starting in November I developed severe anxiety , foot pain , shooting pains from elbow to wrist , tingling , eye pain and headaches in the forehead area

Went to see a ND in Bc and he told me that the bart is back and started treating me with ceftin , Bactrim and zithro . I have only been taking the bactrim and one pill of Zithro a day .

I have had obvious herxs and then felt better . My bad periods would come every 10 or so days .

Now - starting 1.5 weeks ago I was at work and suddenly got very dizzy , nauseous , very hot and started sweating a bit then the next day developed SEVERE brain fog like I can't think , saying words all wrong , I've developed dizziness and feeling like I'm on a boat when I close my eyes , my head is buZzing , light and sound sensitivity and hot flashes , also a tight chest .

I'm wondering why the change in symptoms suddenly and im wondering if you think that I have babesia as well ,?

Oh, oh... it does look like babesia coming back.

Why change of symptoms? No idea... maybe babesia coming back?

We all pass through change of symptoms, specially when you treat one infection (then another shows up).

I had those light sensitivity with babesia for sure, and problems with breathing, night sweats etc.

I think some depersonalization, that was the worst with babs. Crying for no reason, it felt like I was watching myself in the movie: why am I crying now?

Extreme brain fog, really extreme, and fatigue. Then blood values went bad (iron, basically)...

that is what I remember from babesia.

Another thing I remember, was that babesia symptoms kept constantly changing. When it's strong, we know clearly: babesia, typical symptoms.

Then after I started treatment, symptoms changed rather fast, and became mingled with bart, borrelia, but that type of extreme fog was always there...

Do you know why the doc put you on Bactrim? Bactrim treats babesiosis.

My babs symptoms were basically non-existent (but I tested positive through FISH at Igenex, so I definitely had it). But, as soon as I started treating it with Bactrim, all hell broke loose.

I got terrible flares every 7 days like clockwork. So, I went from being perfectly normal to having a 48 hour episode where all I could do is lay down.

I didn't talk, eat, drink, go to the bathroom or even move for that 48 hours. I just went in and out of consciousness. And, during that 48 hour flare, I had an overwhelming feeling of DOOM!!! Mentally, I believed I would never get better, and I could NOT talk myself out of it.

So, those were my babs symptoms coming out with Bactrim treatment. (Bactrim also treats bart somewhat.)

When I reported the weekly horror, my lyme doc added artemesinin (an herb) to be taken to encompass the flare. So, I took it Friday through Sunday.

Immediately, the art reduced the weekly babs flare to nearly nothing--just an overwhelming need to take a nap in the middle of the day.

Each week, the need to nap lessened. Once I had no more weekly flares, then the babs switched to a 14 day cycle with a flare every 14 days.

After so long, I no longer had the 14 day cycle flare. That is how we knew that babs was gone.

Babs was the last disease I treated, so every symptom I got from babs treatment was babs and only babs.

I completed my treatment over 12 years ago now and am still symptom free.

How long do these episodes last? Did you start the Bactrim in November? I suggest you add art to your regimen. You can buy it at the Vitamin Shoppe. Burrascano says it should be added to babs treatment in all cases. My doc had me take it twice per day on an empty stomach.

Hope this helps you!

For me the drenching night sweats were the most visible sign of my Babesia recurrance. But I can relate to all of the others stated on here as well. Started the Mepron, Zith, and Bactrim again immediately and all symptoms subsided.
