Anyone here been diagnosed with this? I probably have it (tick was positive). Wondering about symptoms. Doc office said they were unable to locate a lab to test but treating anyway. Infected in Nelson County VA.
Thank you.

Unbelieveable. Just did a little reading on this infection and it is found in the western US. In fact the map shows zero cases in the east. How the h*ll did it get to Nelson County, VA? If I wasn't having so many classic symptoms, I would question the accuracy of these results. Very distressing.

OH NO! You again? Nelson County again? Ahhhhhhhh! I don't want to hear that!
And besides, I don't want to hear of you maybe having it either. So sorry!!! Bless your heart!
I've been watching B. miyamotoi as it has come on the scene and collecting data that I've hoarded away for a rainy day.
Here is my main page on it with an article I wrote about it 3-4 years ago.
If you go to the very bottom of the page you'll see "subpages". I remember there is one that is from here- LymeNet- named More on Miyamotoi. Might be helpful to you? Forgot what it is about right now- too tired- but had I not thought it important I wouldn't remember it at all!
Now, when you get settled, and ONLY then.... it would REALLY help me a lot if you could email me a copy of that tick test result- with your name and personal info blacked out of course.
I will use it to help warn others in Nelson and in Virginia. And you know if we don't do it no one else will!
If I remember right- sorry too tired to research- they found B. miyamotoi in turkeys in Tennessee? Lots if I recollect proper.
Anyhow, if you need more info I will do my best to try to find it for you. Just say the word. And the word today is "jelly bean".

Whose map? Do you have a link to it?
Back in 2011, Dr. H. stated in one of his talks that b. miyamotoi was showing up in ticks in Hyde Park, NY. See this link to my post where I pasted the notes I took from this talk:
And, a person I know who was bitten near Niagara Falls had their tick tested and it was positive for miyamotoi. If I understood correctly, the person said that the ticks there are 80% positive for miyamotoi and lyme.
So, this strain of lyme (relapsing fever) is in the east, in Japan, and probably everywhere now.
If you do a LymeNet search on miyamotoi, you will find it mentioned in 96 posts. Read them if you are interested in where it is showing up.

Just gathered these for you too. Abstracts from 2015-2017.
Of course the IDSA money grubbers are all over this new disease- I mean "new opportunity" to help mankind, so take the info here with a grain of salt. OK?

As you may know, Shenandoah National Park's southern border is just a stone's throw from the north east border of Nelson County.
SNP was one of the parks where B. miyamotoi was found.
Virginia
"Borrelia miyamotoi and A. phagocytophilum were documented at 60% and 70% of the parks, respectively..." [Eastern National Parks & Mid-Atlantic National Parks.]
