Was diagnosed in 2000 with lyme. have had many good years and flairups in between. Iv's work for me. One time with vancomycin i went almost 3-4 years without flairups. Question is can lyme actually trigger ms in someone?

- Your post is loaded with so much that you don't say so I'm making an assumption that you either wonder if you might either have reached this new "diagnosis" or be near. Sorry for the disappointing situation.
To be quite to the point - but while this can be scary, it is also somewhat encouraging but I'm not sure my hands and energy can put forth all that I'd like to convey.
So, now to be right to the point,
Q: Can lyme develop into MS?
Yes. Absolutely.
But "MS" is often misdiagnosed and an easy jump for doctors unfamiliar with lyme / TBD.
Yet, while lyme (&/or other tick borne disease) can cause "MS" not all MS is due to lyme / TBD. And there are other chronic stealth infections to consider. And there may be other influences as well.
IMO, though, every person with MS dx should be assessed for lyme / TBD.
"MS" is an honored "end" diagnosis in the medical world but it really is not a disease that can be readily put into a box. They find no known CAUSE but diagnosis solely on SYMPTOMS and patterns.
And these are the very same kinds of symptoms that occur with lyme / TBD.
And not all "MS" is the same. Nor is lyme or any of the TBDs.
Q: Flare ups? While MS flare ups are common . . . where lyme / TBD concerned, such flare ups can be flare ups of the infections, themselves.
And lyme / TBD neuro. damage can be so similar.
HEAT can cause terrible neurol. flare ups for lyme -- and for those with MS dx, regardless of the underlying cause of MS.
Be VERY careful not to get overheated. Even a couple degrees can clobber and damage .
So, here's what I think is the encouraging news:
Since you know lyme is in the picture, my guess is that - likely - treatment has not YET been successful for lyme [it can require lots of combinations / rotations, etc.]
&/or that other coinfections are involved, too.
my hands are going out on me now so I'll have to forgo conversation. links next.
For many with diagnosis of "MS" if lyme / TBD invopvld. they get better -

Also detail about other tick-borne infections, other stealth infections (such as Cpn) that can cause "MS" as well as environmental causes & complexities.
Key nutrient factors discussed, too. But good nutrients, alone, will not be enough to address the issue. -

I do know that when taking the vancomycin in 2008, and 2013 all symptoms were gone... I do have 3 positive tests in 2001 for lyme.

Yes, because the borrelia like lipids and so they can go after the lipids in the myelin sheaths that surround nerves.

Some of the Lyme bands like band 31 have demyelination properties. I had demyelination symptoms of my right leg after bites by sand fleas while hiking in Peru, that symptom went away with LD treatment, so there's your answer and FORGET MS.
