I have seen some recent mention of this on LN, but am not sure of what is safe and what info is accurate now about where to get it (some of the threads are old).

I’ve used Infuserve a lot over the years, but am also looking at possibly getting it cheaper, which would mean mixing it myself, which I’ve never done, and doing it via gravity, as opposed to home-pump balls or syringes.

Who here has mixed it themselves? I have a port, and CANNOT risk sepsis, due to not having sterility with mixing it myself. (And the same for other IV meds).
Opinions on this and experience, please?

And for those of you who have done this, or who simply know, where can you get it cheaper?

Thank you, all!

I am wondering the same regarding cost. As far as keeping your line safe, I would have a nurse show you exactly what you need to do. It really isn't all that hard. Of course with a port you would still need someone to access it for you every 7 days. I'm an RN and work in oncology/infusion so I deal with ports a lot (or I did when I was working a lot on the floor). As far as gravity, the RN who can show you the ropes can also help you learn how to calculate the drip rate. I have done that before with chemo which needs to be much more precise rate wise than rocephin. I hope that this works out for you!
